'28/08/1853 Blue Dugald, parents Donald Blue and Christina McLachlan, Barony'

I do apologise for a tech error that I made. Its been a while.....
Dugald Blue(1853-1932) emigrated to South Africa and married Minnie Louisa Kidwell on 20 Aug 1891. He died in Durban, South Africa on 17 Feb 1932 Hope this is helpful. I do have a couple of other documents.
If anyone can help me with an earlier generation Dugald (born March 1787 in Killean, Argyleshire) , i'd be grateful. Dugald's wife's surname is a tad confusing. Born Sarah McLean - but all later records refer to her as Sarah McKinnon. Any documented explanation ? Second marriage? Rgds and thanks, Flick

South Africa / Re: willmore family

Hi there,
Sorry that I am only seeing this so many years after you posted it. There are quite a few Willmores in South Africa who mostly belong to the branch of John Willmore (b 1687)through Benjamin Willmore (1774  at Flitton w Silsoe, Bedfordshire) and Sarah Howson (b 1778). One of Benjamin's sons, Gregory, came to South Africa in about 1827, after having fought in the Battle of the Nile under Lord Nelson.

Hi again Edwin,
Can you go back in your lineage for me - which of Gregory and Jane's children is your forefather?

Hi Edwin,
How interesting! My husband is a descendant of Gregory & Jane via Charles Arthur. Could you give me your lineage from Benjamin? Am so curious. If you wouldn't mind giving me an e-mail address I'll send you the family pages as I have them. HOWEVER please use these only as a starting point for your research. I have so often taken info from well-meaning folk, only to find that their research has been skewed at some point. Would hate you to take my info as 'gospel' when it could as easily be incorrect.

Hi there
I am interested to read about your connection with Barkley. I am researching  Charles Daly who is the 'Daly' of Daly and Seymour in your reference. Do you have any written history of their friendship. I phoned Bloemhof tourism , asking for info on your relation and mine, but they were not helpful.
I would appreciate any info on Charles Daly that you or your family could provide.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: William Joseph (1711-1790)
« on: Friday 04 October 19 18:16 BST (UK)  »
Thanks so much. I do not have documented evidence of his birth in 1711. I think I unwisely made the assumption based on every  ANC tree connected to Francis Joseph (1751) for whom I do have baptismal docs. There is a William Joseph born in Passenham Northamptonshire who was born in 1711. I didn't add that record  to my tree - but have it in file 13!!
I have, today, found a William Joseph marrying  Ann Beall in 1707 - so he could well have been my William's father. No corroboration yet. Come to think of it, he could have been Francis' father ( so 44 years old when my Francis is born in 1751) Am rambling now .... Shall investigate further.
Again - thanks for your help.

Thank you so much. I saw that marriage on Ancestry and had checked out the possibility of Hannah being Ann. What confused me slightly was the 'Chairman of the ??'  It looks as though it could be 'Weave?' I shall research that.
Thanks again.
