World War One / Re: Louvain WW1
« on: Saturday 23 February 08 18:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Su,

I just wanted to add that my middle name is Louaine.  I was named partly after Louvain and my grandmother Louisa, she died the day I was born in 1944.  My father was in the RAF and stationed in Louvain at this time.  He told me that Louvain was badly bombed in the second world war, he stayed there until 1946 to help them clear up. Good luck with your research.

Sheila.

Hi Chrissie,

I read your message with interest.  My research has recently discovered a relationship to the Nield and Woodfin(e) families in Ince. My husband's great great grandfather was William Nield b. 1836 in Ince.  His parents were William and Mary Woodfine.  I would be very grateful to hear if you have any relevant information on these families.

Best wishes, Sheila.
