Hi there,

There is quite a lot of information on the Wilson family thanks to their involvement in Coleorton Pottery.  I strongly recommend the book "Coleorton Pottery 1835-1938" by Samuel T Stewart, I helped provide some family history information on the Wilson family for this book and it contains very many interesting details about our ancestors lives. Samuel Stewart has done an excellent job!

Unfortunately there has been no progress on tracing the family any further back from Jane's father, Thomas Wilson who was born 1767 in Donisthorpe, Leicestershire.  How interesting that Frances Jane & her family emigrated to the US, no wonder I have not been able to trace her after the 1881 census.  I would love any information you may have about the Turner family after this date to add to my tree.

Jane's brothers continued to run the Pottery after their fathers death and made a very good business of it.  Jane was a beneficiary in her brother Thomas' will, he left her 850 which would have the same spending worth of 41,063.50 today.  I can send you a copy if you like, send me a personal message.

All the best
Susan

Hello Jon, Yes I am related to Jane Wilson, she was the sister of William Wilson who is my direct ancestor.

Hmmm - didn't spot that one straight away, oh well she's not the first in my tree and probably won't be the last, it's just disappointing that we come to a dead end.

Thanks for the info anyway, it's great to be in possession of all the facts, whether pleasing or not!

Kindest wishes,
Sue   :)

Massive thanks Larkspur,

This is indeed the information I was hoping for, by the way Maria is living in the same house/next door to a John Hawley in 1841 now that all makes sense.

I very much appreciate your time & trouble, you have helped immeasureaby.

Many thanks
Sue   :)

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help?  I have Emma Traves born 1841 in Nottingham, she married Charles William Button in 1865.  I would like to find out her parents if possible, I've found her in 1851 with her mother Maria Thraves born Nottingham abt 1803, she is listed as widow.

I can't find anything on familysearch, can anyone help?

Many thanks,
Sue    :)

Hello all,

Just received this from Liverpool Records Office -

"Hello Susan

Thank you for your email.

The grave details for Louisa Walls are Section 6 Grave No. 83

Kind Regards

Sue Kauffman"

Hurrah!  Thanks to Blue for the tip.  I'm happy that I won't have to wander around searching every gravestone as this looks like it could have taken some time!

Thank-you all for your help and advice on this one, I am a happy bunny!

Regards
Sue   :)
