You've done it again Trish!
So pleased it is still standing.
Very well done!

Hi Carol,

Haven't posted for quite some time, but still enjoy these building searches.

Could it be Twyford Abbey - at least a part of it.  It used to be a huge building, now derelict, sadly.

Hello again,

I use Norfolk Records Office Wills search. (Nrocat)
Results give you the relevant Archdeaconry and a reference number.
Then go to the Family Search site, find the Archdeaconry and date, and try to find the page!

John Slark's will was indexed on the Nrocat site as "Slack"
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSND-R92X-C?i=360&cat=504379

I was intrigued that John was a painter.
The inventory shows he was a picture painter.  Quite prolific too, judging by the number of his pictures appearing on the inventory.
It also mentions his sons, including Robert - and a tantalizing list of names to research
Goes on for quite a few pages.

Finally, the St Gregory's parish chest records, showing John as a Churchwarden.

Enjoy reading ....   I did!

Hello Di,

Spent some time looking for this marriage - to no avail.

So many different transcriptions - Stark, Stack, Slack, Slank

Had a good look on the Family Search site - a few interesting records.

John Slark's will, and a fascinating inventory - plus some St Gregory's Parish Chest entries, showing John as one of the churchwardens.

If you haven't already seen them, happy to send you links.

Norfolk Completed Look up Requests / Re: Baptism for Mary SPRINGALL, Bradwell
« on: Monday 12 August 19 17:23 BST (UK)  »
There's a possible burial for a John Springall aged 50 in Great Yarmouth, January 2 1820, giving him a birth date c. 1770.

One likely baptism was in Corton, Suffolk, very close to both Bradwell and Great Yarmouth.

Three baptisms by a John and Mary Springale at Corton.

Had a look for the marriage in Bradwell, but couldn't find it.
There is a marriage, same date, same names, but in Great Yarmouth.
The other witness is a John Weston.

Found a marriage of John Springall, again Great Yarmouth, 28 April 1794, to one Mary Rounce.
The witnesses are Mary Springall and John Weston.

Looks like John Springall is Mary's brother.

Do you have a death for Mary Springall/Smith?

Hello Louisa,

I think the St Margaret's registration district did include other parishes.

Are you happy to give their names?

Hi again
Is the marriage listed in the GRO index?
Just wondered how you were sure the marriage took place
