Thats right James was born before 1858 albeit a long time. and at the time of me posting the query I estimated charles being born circa 1858 because of his marriage date, but since then I found that his wife had been previously married and was older than I thought so I had to revise Charles birth to an earlier date, sorry for the confusion.................Sammy

Thank you for your response to this posting. I now have 2 children born to Charles Cranston and Mary Jane Brownlee namely the Mary Ann Cranston you mentioned born 14 Dec 1879 and Esther Cranston born 24mar 1883. I now know that Mary Jane Brownlee was previously married to a John Caddle in 1863 and had 4 children by him, but I cannot link in the McQuade name.............Thank you again Sammy

Dear Aghadowey,
In my original posting I did state that James Cranston was born before 1858 and not circa 1858. The only definate date I have is the marriage of his son Charles Cranston in 26 mar 1879. Charles married a widow who was previously married 25 July 1863 and then her age was recorded as full, so she was born circa 1842, if Charles was of similar age ,he too would be born circa 1842, and at a rough estimation his father James Cranston would have been born 1820 or earlier, but this is just my guess work. I did not know you had a limit on how many queries a person has. Also I had exhausted all the lines of enquiry I had and hit brickwalls hence the reason I posted the topics in the 1st place. Some other subscribers seem pleasant and willing to help but I can't understand your problem, isn't the idea of this site for people to help each other. If I'm wrong let me know and I'll unsubscribe.

Looking for information on ancestors or descendents of John Vincent born c1809. He was the father of Hugh Vincent born c1857. Hugh Vincent married Martha McBride on 3 February 1877 in Belfast.
