Hi Kaz,

The Witnesses might have been friends, but I haven't come across the names in any data relating to Thomas and Phillis which is a shame.

I still might not be 100% sure that the couple is my Gx3 Grandparents, but thanks to your kindness I have learned two extra snippets:-
That Thomas and Phillis DID definitely marry at St. Marys, and that both could write.

I FEEL it is the couple I'm wanting, but that tiny clue I need to make it fact is so elusive, and without that I cannot really claim this couple {though I can keep them on side ;-).

Thank you very much for looking them up for me, I really appreciate all your help.

Sincerely,
Jennyalogy

To Patrish & Little Nell,

I wrote to you yesterday but before I could get the email sent my internet session was finished, so I lost it.

I had been told that Phillis's maiden name was WILDS, and since then Parents and birthplaces of both Thomas & Phillis were recorded in the Baptism of one of their children at Kirby Moorside, Yorkshire - which confirmed the information.

Thank you very much for your help which I certainly appreciate.

All the best,
Jennyalogy

Hi Patrish,

Yes, I realise most early marriages do just say if of the Parish the couple is marrying in, but sometimes the place the parties are from is recorded.

I was hoping to be so lucky with this couple ;-)

Thank you very much for your reply which I appreciate.

Kind regards,
Jennyalogy

Good morning,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with a marriage record in Alverstoke please.

My Gx3 Grandparents Thomas WARRINER ch Kirby Moorside, Yorkshire and Phillis WILDS ch Edenbridge, Kent had their first [known] child in Sunderland, Durham in 1783.

The only marriage I have been able to find, which MIGHT be theirs, is a marriage in IGI of
Thomas WARRANNAR & Phillis WILDS 16 OCT 1780   Alverstoke, Hampshire.

I was wondering if someone would be able to check this record, to see if there is any mention of where this couple were from please.

Best wishes,
Jennyalogy

Thanks Cando, I realise this, but I only wondered if any of Lynie's MENSFORTHs moved up to NSW, if there was any connection.

All the best,

Durham Lookup Requests / Re: Durham Parish Registers-WILLIAMSON

Hi JenB,

My mistake I'm sorry, I should have written Ryton- I've been told some Ryton and Whickham events were also registered at Gateshead.

The baptism in Gateshead was 24 June 1787.

I didn't get to access the site you mention as I couldn't update to Adobe 10, perhaps because I'm on dialup.

I thought the Parish Register may have had extra information.

Thank you for checking the Bishops Transcripts for me, I appreciate your kindness.

Hi all,

I'm still not sure which two you are asking about, so please let me explain further.

Edward Snr md 1) Mary MURNANE and they had a Son Edward 1876.
Mary d 1877

Edward Snr then md 2) Maria WHITE and they had 2 Sons George 1881 & Samuel 1883

So either Edward Snr is George's Father, or Edward Jnr is George's half Brother.
