Essex Lookup Requests / Re: Romford, Langbants

Yes there are other threads, but the info from Stuart is new and has been helpful. Also the knowledge that Station Road does not exist anymore.
They do not seem to be on several countries emigration lists, and particularly for Henry a change of name would have been extremely unlikely.
Thanks anyway.

Okay thanks again. Have to think of something else.

So going to Station Road is a waste of time too. I think you're right, post office wouldn't have /give out address.  :(

I realised that you could only look up the address for that period, which is why I wondered if the council would/could give out forwarding address. ( Probably not anyway because of data protection.)
The daughter, Denise, was at Fyfield.
I queried whether the houses were still there, as the possibility that if I visited the area, there could be someone still living there that remembered where they went.
as you say, it is an usual name, but the remaining Langbants in the records have all been accounted for, and no help.
Thanks again.

Hi Stuart

Thanks very much for that. I thought they would still be in Romford up to 1971, when their daughter was at boarding school in Essex. So at least I know they were there until 69.
I guess the local council records office would not give information about where they moved to next, would they?
They seem to have all disappeared completely, no deaths, no marriage(for daughter), so not sure what to try next.

Anyway, your help is much appreciated. :)

p.s The woman at the library said the houses in Station Road are no longer there. Do you know if this is correct?

Hi Stuart273
Sorry I didn't reply sooner but I have been away.
I believe the records are in Romford Town Hall, if you are nearby. That's what the library told me anyway.
If you get the chance I would be very grateful, but I am not sure whether you have to ask for them to come out of storage, which means a bit of a faff.
Thanks.

Thanks for replies. i was hoping to find out if they were living at station road in 66 or 67.
I don't believe they are both still alive. Is it possible to search on electoral registers using name rather than address please?
Yes the daughter probably is still living which is why I haven't requested info about her, but she seems also not to be listed anywhere.

Anyway thanks again.

Can anyone help with a search for Henry or Joyce Langbant, living at 37 Station Rd Romford in 1965.
I wonder if anyone can look up beyond that point to see if they were still living there?
I have not been able to find death certificates for either. Henry was born 1920 and Joyce I think a little later, maybe 1922.  They were married in 1960.

Any new information would be very appreciated. :)

Moderator comment: edited for content, there is a 'no living people' policy on Rootschat
