Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Elizabeth Prior of Reepham with Kerdiston

Thanks amondg - does seem a likely possibility. She gives her birthplace as Reepham in census returns though, but Foulsham is nearby. So frustrating when you can't be 100% sure you have the right person!

Hoorah  ;D

FreeREG has a Roydon baptism for MATTHEW Mendham, illeg son of Mary Mendham, born 1835, I guess this is a transcription error and that should be Martha.

Thanks so much  :)

Thanks both, is Mary Mendham a widow or unmarried - she needs to be unmarried for it to be the one I want it to be  ;)

Thanks for that  :)

His mother's name was Anna, or Hannah.

I'm on a never-ending quest to find a Samuel & Esther Southgate, born to John Southgate between 1814 and 1826. He was from Great Snoring. I've found Esther, but can find no baptism record for her anywhere. All I know about Samuel is that he had two sons, Alfred and Samuel. Aargh  :-\

Thanks again,

Mark

Hi,

Looking to find Alfred Southgate, born around 1835 Norwich. His father should be Samuel. Could someone tell me where Samuel was born please?

Many thanks,

Mark

This was my mother-in-law's family tree. Would be fascinated to hear more, I certainly didn't get that far back with the Chapmans. If I remember rightly Thornton Chapman had a daughter Alice Thornton Chapman whose son Bernard Thornton Cole was my mother-in-law's father!

Would be happy to send you what I have.
