There is a long running (since 2009) thread on the Lincs board about the Quarry.

1861 there is a J.L. aged 82, Brickmaker of Axholme at Bracebridge Heath Asylum.

The Bracebridge Heath Asylum wasn't built until after the 1851 census.  There was however "The Lawn" which opened in 1820 which has the patients listed by initial in the 1851 census, lots of patients for you to search through.   It was in the Lincoln parish of St Martins.

"of" has been deleted and the number of the deletion in the register is 14.  It has nothing to do with the occupation.

I've also seen fathers noted as deceased when they were still alive.

Nothing is necessarily correct just because it's written down.

In 1897 directory, 74 Newport was the premises of W SCOTT baker, next door to the Stags Head (kept by my family).

It was on the opposite side of the road from No.75.

Streetview shows us that these two semi-detached houses are Hillside and Heathfield.

The 1911 list of houses shows us that Durdans was the next house along, so might be the one set back from the road along a long path.  The house now called Gallery House was the house previously called St Michaels.
