Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / GRANT - Lookup help please
« on: Saturday 25 August 12 09:57 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find any information on a Harriet Grant Born About 1805-1807 New port Isle of Wight, i have found on Family search parents were John grant and Betty, but not sure if this is my Harriet's parents,
Harriet i believe married a James Dore 1825 and had a daughter Rosallar or Rosalie Dore abt 1827 can not trace Harriet & James together or their daughter's birth records Harriet was then married  to John Hayden cn npr find marriage but they were together on the 1842 census, and the daughter  was incorrectly transcribd as Basali, they had a son Sidney Joseph hayden born abt 1835 supposedly isle of Wight England, he came to Australia and married in 1857 to Clarissa Jamieson 1at wife and then after her death married Annie Askew my GG Grandmother, on the 1841 census( Harriet and John hayden also had a daughter Emma born about 1839 she married a Charles henry Brown ) and Harriet and John also had a daughter Harriet born about 1841 now John died abt 1870 and Harriet is on the 1871 census with her daughter Harriet and  daughter Emma Brown and her husband Charles Henry Brown,
I have the death certificte for harriet hayden 1897 and it states her daughter Rosallar Evennett was with her, Rosallar married James Evennett about 1849,
and they are on the 1851 census together, and they both died in 1902(no children)on their marriage certificate it states James Dore the father and a witness was John hayden
now my problem i have never been able to find a marriage for Harriet Dore/Grant and John hayden (John was a publican) and with the daughter Rosallar some census say she was born in the Channel Islands so it has become a difficult research  their son Sidney Joseph died in Australia around 1925, and i have never been able to find his 1st wife Clarissa jamieson records supposedly born 1835 London parents Robert Jamieson & Harriet Bisbrown,
I would appreciate any help with any of this family
as i am at a loss to find any positive information
any help will be really appreciated
Thanking You Angel 24

I do not know if the Nicholas Harry who was a witness at John Treloar and Mary Ann James wedding was from South Australia, he obviously was in Forest Creek at the time, would love to find where he was from,

but i read the newspaper story on Roots Chat about William Treloar  from South Australia who is John Treloar's Father and on the next page it had a story about a  fire and i think it mentioned a Thomas Harry,

Best of Luck with your research

I have a marriage certificate for a John Treloar and Mary Ann/nee James in 1854 Forest Creek Melbourne Australia  and a witness was Nicholas Harry,

I have found a Harry Family in South Australia where the Treloar family settled after they arrived in 1847
so i am presuming this Nicholas Harry who signed the marriage certificate could be part of the Harry family from South Australia
