Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Cause of death on death certificate
« on: Saturday 05 October 19 22:02 BST (UK)  »
Thank you so much everyone for your input. I've never had this much of an issue deciphering a death certificate before.

So far it does indeed seem to be Recurrent Intracranial Ependymoma, but I will post here later a photograph of the whole certificate for you to peruse over.

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could be so kind as to help me decipher a cause of death. I can see it was Intracranial, but completely at a loss for what the rest of the entry says.

I do hope someone can help me.

Many Thanks

Tim.

This is exactly what I thought; however, it wouldnt quite explain why her children were able to live alone and leave the workhouse and didnt take her with them. She didnt remarry for over a decade after you see her children living alone in 1911.

Thankyou for the address details for the records centre.

Thankyou for your reply.

I think the information you have provided has allowed me to discover there are actually two different families here with John Priscotts as the head of the house born within 1 year of eachother from the same place.

Annoyingly they both are also Widowers on their marriage certificates so I Had presumed it was the same man...obviously now It cant be.

Many thanks again.

Thank you all so much for the information.

I have now confirmed with a certificate that she indeed married a Mr Sales, so thankyou for the heads up on that one.

It is still a mystery why she left her family of children and married another man a decade later. Would there be anywhere in the records I could follow up on this and get any more details?

Somerset / Burial for Susanna(h) Priscott - nee Winsborough

Hj there,

I have a John Priscott b 1761 in Cutcombe. He married thrice, once to Jane Hole in 1803 (she died a year later), second to a Susanna(h) Winsborough in 1807, and thirdly to Ann Widlake in 1815.

I can not seem to find a death or burial for Susanna(h). Or an alternative marriage for that matter. I believe she was baptised in Brompton Regis in 1785, to Richard and Katherine.

Can anyone help me track down Susanna(h) after giving birth to her last child Ann Priscott in 1814.

Many Thanks.

Tim.

Many thanks for your quick reply! The plot thickens.

If the children are back in a property in 1911, is there such a thing as a 'leaving record' from the workhouse? It's odd that without parents they were able to leave the workhouse are go back to living in a property.

Many Thanks

Tim.

Hi there,

I am hoping you can help me with finding the death of a parent inbetween 2 census returns.

I have an Emily Everest, whom in the 1911 census is looking after her 7 siblings with no parents present. She is 21 on the census and born in Lingfield, Surrey. Her siblings are Leonard, Percy, Doris, Ernest, Sydney and May.

In 1901 I can see both of her parents; William Everest b1860 Lingfield, and Alice Grant b1867 in East Grinstead.

It seems William Everest passed away in 1907 - Godstone, Surrey. But i can not find a death record for his wife Alice between census.

Can anyone help me track her down?

Thank you for your replies, it is very much appreciated!

Which site are you using to find the death entry in 1982?
