Carl, the only thing I know about Rebecca is that she had a daughter Elizabeth Reeve, who was of mature years when she was baptised in 1856 at Long Buckby, Northamptonshire.
On the census returns she is shown as being married to William Reeve but I am unable to trace the marriage, or the birth of Elizabeth. Her birthplace is shown as Belturbet, Ireland.
On the Elizabeths' baptism records her name is shown as Rebecca Maguire Reeve

Hi Bobwag.
Do you know whereabouts in County Cavan Butlers Bridge is situated.
I have, I believe, a Maguire but my person was born around 1800.
Her name was Rebecca and she was my ggg grandmother living in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire.
I can find no one else connected with her with the possible exception of a lady named Lucy who was also born in Ireland.
I realise that this may be a long shot but I have noting else to go on.
Looking forward to your reply
Kind regards
Mick

Hello Mick
I am new to this web page, only came across it by chance a day or two ago. Was looking at my Grandfathers listing on the census for 1911. Was able to find Great Grandfathers name. William Henry Rose Cox. My Father was Victor Cox born 1919. the son on Henry Cox born 1897. It would seem we share the same Great Grandfather.  I knew I had found the right family when I read others peoples entries. Someone mentioned Colwyn Road. I visited as a child in the 60"s & 70's. The last time was in 1978. I always knew the House  as Auntie Edie's house, that making her my Great Auntie. Many fond memories. Not been in touch with family members for many years now, as I have been living in New Zealand for years & years now. I'm hoping you will be able to help add to my family tree. This is all new & very interesting for me as I didn't even know what my Grandfathers name was till a few days ago. He died in 1947? Long before I was born, & never talked about.
Hopefully a new relative down under.

Hi Julie, how marvelous to hear from you. as you say, we are indeed from the same stock. My grandfather was William George Rose Cox, Victors brother.
I've posted the tree, as far as I've got, on line. I've called it Northamptoncoxes.
If you would like to access it let me know. i will need your email address.
I've got some pictures of a few of the Cox's including one of your father and some of our grand and great grand parents. I don't think you can add pictures on this site so if you  would like to see them, I can email them to you.
I have no information about your side of the family (doesn't that sound horrible, YOUR side of the family) but I'm sure you know what I mean.
Julie my email address is  (*)  and if you go to www.thecoxes.f9.co.uk you will find a photo of myself and my wife Jan.
As I say, it's lovely to hear from you and if there is anything you want to know about the family you only have to ask and if I can answer you I will. If I can't, I'll try to get the answers for you.
Take care and look after yourself and we'll keep in touch,
lots of love
Michael (Mick)

Hi Naomi2, William Henry Rose Cox was my great grandfather.
He was the son of William Cox (b. c1805), believed son of John Cox and Catherine Rose, (b, c1819) daughter of William and Martha Rose. William, I believe, died in Moulton and was buried at Moulton on 12th September 1872. William and Catherine were married at Great Billing on 8th October 1848.
Their son William Henry Rose Cox was born around 1864 believed at Moulton.
He married Priscilla Denton at St. Peters Church, Weston Favell (now a suburb of Northampton) on 3rd April 1889. Priscilla was the daughter of George Denton.
Their first child, William George Rose Cox was born in Northampton on 14th March 1890. He died on 19th October 1974 at home in Northampton.
I too have been unable to confirm the death of William Henry Rose but will continue in my research until i can.
I should also mention that William H.R. was my great grandfather and William G.R. my grandfather.
Kind regards
Michael B. Cox

Northamptonshire / Re: Schools in Northampton late 1930's
« on: Thursday 25 August 05 20:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi Ruth,
the information that you have been given is correct. Gladstone Terrace was indeed just off Adelaide Street which is off the A508 Barrack Road. The area is indeed known as Semilong but the is a number of schools that your mum could have attended.
As an infant, she may have attended St. Pauls School, which was situated in Semilong Road. If she did attend that school she would probably have stayed there through her "junior" years (until she was about 11 years old. she may have gone on then to attend St. Georges School along the Barrack Road.
In the 1950's this school was a secondary modern school.
Another alternative would be Spring Lane School as an infant and junior.
A 3rd choice would have been Military Road School, which (of this point I am not 100% certain) I believe was a secondary school (seniors).
Of the schools that I have mentioned, only Spring Lane is still open.
I attended St. Paul's from 1951 to 1957 and my sister attended St Paul's from 1947 to 1953 when she started at St Georges where she stayed until 1957.
Incidentally, there are a few books about "old Northampton" which feature a photograph of the residents of Gladstone Terrace at the time of the coronation of King George 6th (1937).
regards
Mick
