Hi Gill,
I've had a look at your tree and I maybe able to fill in some of the gaps.
Gertrude's birth was registered Jan-Mar 1908 in Islington. I could not find any of her siblings registered in Islington, other than Florence Mabel. How sure are you that these were their names?
Gertrude's mother was Georgina Sutton. Mrrd to Archibald Theodore Albone -  Jul-Sep 1902, Islington.
Archibald's mother was Emma Toll, mrrd to Joseph registered Apr-Jun 1872 Hitchin.
Millar and Anne (Balls) had the following children
Mary Ann chr 28 Jul 1850
William David chr 20 Jan 1854
George Balls Albone reg Jan-Mar 1860
Millar Peter reg Oct-Dec 1862
I then have the same lineage going back to Thomas and Mary of Biggleswade.

Dear Gill
I am in the process of doing a one name study for Albon(e).
I have this family in my database.
You are correct in that Edward's parents were Joseph Albon and Ann Bonfield. I have their mrrg, chr and death data if you need it, and Josephs parents.
Where do you fit into the Albone story?

Dear Yvonne,
I have your William c1849 in my database. I have found him in the 1881 and 1901 census. I have the following children for him
Frederick William - birth registered Jan-Mar 1886, Ashby de la Zouch
Lucy Annie - birth registered Jul-Sep 1889, Leicester
Thomas Percy - birth registered Jul-Sep 1891, Market Harborough
Ada Mary  - birth registered Apr-Jun 1894, Leicester
Elsie Florence - birth registered Jul-Sep 1896, Melton Mowbary
George - brn abt 1899, Barking, Essex
I have no details on Albert - do you have any?

I have been unable to work out who his parents are. It may be that they died whilst he was very young and this is why I can't find him living with his father William in any of the census'. I have also not yet found a birth record of a William born around this time with a William as a father
I have also been unable to find this family in the 1891 census.
Proving to be quite elusive.
Does his marriage certificate give his age at the of marriage?

Interestingly I do have a William Albon that was a straw dealer who moved to Essex, but I have no record of him having a son named William. He did however have a son named Emery born 1850 who dissappears in 1869 after the birth of his son in Mar 1869. Could this be the same person - changed his name and enrolled in the army ( for whatever reason!)
kind regards
Denise

Dear Kay,

Thanks for the pic - a great addition to my collection. I have Jonah and Mizzanah on my database - but I do not know which of their children went on to have Doris and Alonzo in your photograph. I'd be very grateful for any information you have on Jonah & Mizzanah's descendents.

I agree with your ancestry details which I have sourced direct from the Parish register transcripts and put together with the info from the census'.
I have deduced that the parents of William were Edward and Sarah (nee Hillyar) - mrrd Meppershal 5/1/1741.
I have nothing to back this up other than it fits very neatly.
I am sure that Edward came from outside of Arlesey, as there were no Albons in Arlesey prior to 1738.
William had the following siblings
John chr 29/8/1742, dies 18/12/1812
Elizabeth chr 13/5/1744
Edward chr 3/6/1750
Mary chr 26/7/1753
William chr 1/6/1756, buried 22/8/1756
William chr 17/7/1768 aged 9

kind regards
Denise

Dear Blunny & Trees,

Sorry for the delay in reply. I do not have your Ann or Elizabeth on my database as I have not yet included any Allebone, Allibone names.
Blunny, I did however find your Ann's marriage to John Roberts in the IGI, although they are member submitted forms rather than extracted records from the parish registers. The marriage took place in Kempston, Bedfordshire.
the same record has her death as 2/2/1778.
kind regards
Denise

Hi Gillian
I have three possible James whose father's are a Samuel
1. born abt 1852 to Samuel Albon & Sarah Presland. Found unmarried in the 1861/71/81/91 census with after Samuel - so not this one.
2. born abt 1850 to Samuel Albon & Eliza Roberts. Went on to marry an Emily from Ickelford and found in all census' - so not this one.
which leaves
3. James born abt 1860 to Samuel Albon & Maria Wiltshire (mrrd 13 Jan 1839, Arlesey). Living 1861 in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire with his family (recorded as Harbon) and 1871 with brother Josiah in Ashwell,  Hertfordshire before marrying Mary Elizabeth Hibbert. James was probably born in Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire (1871 census).
Siblings:-
Josiah b10 Jun 1839 - d14 May 1842
George b26 Mar 1842 - d17 Jan 1902
Eliza Ann b22 Dec 1844 - d22 Oct 1902
Josiah b30 Aug 1847 - d24 Dec 1912
Sarah Elizabeth b4 Jun 1851 -

James' father Samuel was born abt 1819, Arlesey to Joseph Albon & Susannah Hall (mrrd 21 Feb 1811)

thanks Bryant - I never give up on this site. I have had some good answers a year down the line.
(it does remind me though to remove queries for which I have since found the answer!!)

Your 1841 finding is a possibility. I have ground to a halt on this line of the research and not sure where to go next with it.

Wow - It was over a year that I posted this request!. Never give up hope.
According to the marriage cert of William his father's names was William and he was a labourer ( not very revealing!)

Below is a definite possibilty for the father.
