London and Middlesex / Legal Matters
« on: Wednesday 09 March 16 09:34 GMT (UK)  »
Some legal matters in family history I find baffling and would like some input from anyone with a matter that I have kept on the back burner for quite a long while and it relates to this;

John Twitchin
(Bailed at Police Court)
Committing Magistrate T.I.Barstow.Esq...Clerkenwell Police Court.
Date of Warrant 11 June 1886
Offence as Charged;
Publishing a libel on George Paris Sandeman.
Remanded from last Session.
Remanded till next session.
This does not appear in the Old Bailey records although George Paris Sandeman does on other non related matters

I don't know what happened to him as I could find no more detail ....... some of you might have suggestions?

It does not give his age and I have five John Twitchin's who would/could be eligible for the misdemeanor born;
1818
1838
1841
1847
1864

I would love to have this photo cleaned up please.
The background shows the well kept citrus orchard which Francis Finch owned and he took the produce on a horse and cart daily from Parramatta to Sydney markets during the season.

Technical Help / Sheer Audacity
« on: Friday 01 January 16 21:04 GMT (UK)  »
Isn't there some way of stopping these pest messages that one gets from a supplier that you may have used previously but no longer need to use their product(s).
The sheer audacity they have when you get down to the fine print to unsubscribe from getting their emails in requesting that you fill out a form that has a very difficult to see *nonsense* word that you must copy into a box along with your email address ..... don't they know it? for goodness sake they send the pest message to it in the first place ......... and to cap things off it says;
Please note it *may* take up to 10 business days to honor this request.

It would not happen in a face to face transaction at one's local suppliers methinks.

OK rant over ..... feel better now.

London and Middlesex / died,divorced or just disappeared
« on: Monday 03 August 15 06:07 BST (UK)  »
Finding it hard to establish a death or burial of John Twitchin(g) (or any other variation of name) born 1793 and married Louisa Giles at St George Bloomsbury 21 July 1817 (I have the parish record).
John must have died,divorced or disappeared sometime before May 1832 as 'Louisa Twitching' (widow) married Robert Sweet at Paddington 28 May 1832.
Any thought would be appreciated.

« on: Sunday 17 May 15 11:00 BST (UK)  »
I have a rare old olde English surname.
There is a living person with an identical surname and I believe he lives in Dorset ... I am in Australia.
I would love to contact him for DNA purposes but I am not sure how to go about this and I want some guidelines here.
