« on: Monday 26 September 16 12:16 BST (UK)  »
hello all
it has been a long long while since i have been on here
but i have just bought an old postcard and it was sent from Bournemouth to a family member but i am unaware of this family at the address
so i wondered if any one could look up the address and find out who was there
the postcard is dated 22nd April 1908 to
Mrs Markie, 34 Collingwood Rd, Northampton
and it begins with Dear A... and ends with Love B.....?
so i would appreciate both the 1901 and 1911 census
in hope Ian

Northamptonshire / Markie Nether Heyford 1770s Parish records
« on: Sunday 11 November 07 19:25 GMT (UK)  »
For years i have been in search of James and Susannah Markie and now on free reg two names have popped up with a new lead
as i lost them in 1769 in Nether Boddington

just found
Baptism
Twins
James and Sarah C 16th Apr 1770 Nether Heyford.
can anyone please check the parish records for me for the following
did James and sarah survive ! if not date of death
and was the parents James and Susannah buried there !
and i hope to god if they are there that it gives me an age at time of death, but they may be asking to much.....
The surname does have a habit of changing to Markey or Marke etc.
This is very exciting for me as this may end a 20 year search...!

Herts Completed Lookup Requests / LEWIN Family, Great Gaddesden. 1881 /91
« on: Tuesday 07 August 07 14:04 BST (UK)  »
I recived a death cert today of David Lewin aged 51 who died at Wood Farm.
Great Gaddesden in 1884.
looking on the IGI at the 1881 census i noted a david Lewin aged 45 born Gt Gaddesden with wife Emma 25 and children Sarah 1 and Annie 7m
living at Gaddesden Row.

and also where and what was this David Lewin of Gaddesden doing in 1871 ?

could someone please see if this family is still there in 1891. just to rule him out

as the david Lewin i am seeking came from Kent. and if this is his death cert then i wonder what he is doing in gt Gaddesden in 1884.
and also can anyone find out if Wood Farm, Gt Gaddesden is mentioned in the 1881 census and if so who lives there ?
As my David Lewin is mentioned in 1881 census living in Dartford.

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / 1871 Census for Arthur and John Davies
« on: Saturday 24 March 07 09:20 GMT (UK)  »
This how to get yourself in a pickle !
The story so far
Arthur Lewis Davies married in 1909 to Elizabeth Lilian Parris
he is aged 21 and from Yardley and a Toolmaker father Arthur Lewis Davies
in the 1901 Census i have found him
As an errand Boyaged 13 born Small Heath with his father Arthur L Davies An electro plate polisher and wife Annie L Davies, so i obtained the birth cert of Arthur.
Arthur Davies born 18th Oct 1888 In Summer Lane, St George, Birmingham. father Arthur Davies and mother
Margaret Lydia Levitt !
In the 1891 Census
Arthur Davies Brass poilsher and wife Annie L Davies both born Birmingham
with son Arthur just aged 3.
So it appears to me that Annie is not telling the truth.
As Annie should be Margaret Lydia and she was not born in Birmingham but at Longton Staffs.
today the Marriage cert arrived
Arthur Davies Gentleman to Margeret Lydia Levitt 21st Jan 1888 at Melksham Wilts.
Arthur is aged 23 father John Davies Gentlman of church st, Melksham.
But i cannot find no Arthur with a John Davies ! in 1871.
Unless Arthur has also Lied ! but he was born in Birmingham.
Something somewhere is not right !

Regards
Ian Markie
