London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Marriage lookup William Nickolls
« on: Friday 26 February 21 11:21 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a marriage in Q Mar 1850 registered in Marylebone vol 1 Pg 182 for William Nickolls and Mary Ann Smith.
At present I am unsure this is the William I am looking for. His occupation during his life was a Farmer/Butcher and came from Oxford. I would appreciate any help in solving this as there seems to be some other marriages coming up in the Oxford area and the details are not correct. His second marriage took place in Middlesex in 1878 to a Polly Elizabeth Smith.

I will eventually have to send for a Marriage Certificate if this is the correct couple

Thank you in advance

Armed Forces / Universal Carrier

This photo is of Universal carriers at the Military sidings at Farnborough Hants railway station. The vehicles appear to have civilian registration plates. The one in the front was issued in 1952 to a Morris Oxford. Are these numbers specific to regiment or manufactures production.

« on: Tuesday 12 February 19 12:03 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to find a birth record for Clara Moyle baptised 5 July 1898 residence Cury to William Henry and Eliza Jane Moyle. we have a birth date of 24 May 1898. From the 1939 register her birth date is 24 May 1897. Would like to obtain a birth certificate as we believe the time to the next birth in 1899 of Katie my wife's grandmother is too short. Clara died in Helston 1986. Any help is appreciated.  Len

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Leslie Moyle Occupation
« on: Wednesday 11 March 15 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
Leslie Moyle joined the Royal Navy in 1907. I am not sure if his occupation before joining was a Waiter.
This is at the top of his service record.

Devon / Henry Morrison Plymouth and Chester
« on: Saturday 26 July 14 08:50 BST (UK)  »
I have a cousin who is coming over from Australia soon and she is trying to find information about her GGGrandfather Henry. The only information we have is from the 1851 & 1861 Census. I cannot find a birth registration for Henry.

1851 census for Plymouth
William Morrison;    Visitor; married;    37;    Labourer                Essex
Edward                      “     5;          Somersetshire
Henry            “           2         Plymouth

1861 census Chester
William Morrison   Head   Widower   46   Labourer Common   Walley Essex
Henry         Son   12                                Plymouth
John G         Son   8                                Chester
Elizabeth      Dau      2                                Chester

We would also like to find the name of his mother it would appear that she died some time after the birth of Elizabeth.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Looking for Sarah Ridgers nee Baker 1833---
« on: Tuesday 28 January 14 19:27 GMT (UK)  »
My 2x Great Grandfather Charles Ridgers 1812-1873 married Sarah Baker age 19 she was baptised 4 Aug 1833 in Sherfield on Loddon the daughter of George and Sarah Baker.
The marriage took place 24 Feb 1852 in Crondall after the death of his first wife Eliza Terry 1812-1851.
I have been trying to trace her after his death 1 Jul 1873. The only record I have found is in the Post Office Directory for H&IOW 1875. Ridgers Sarah (Mrs) Farmer. Lower Swansthorpe.
There is no sign of her after this so did she die or remarry.
Any help would be much appreciated.
