The Common Room / DNA extraction from stamps (DNA from dead relations)

I am excited by the idea that DNA can be extracted from such things as old postage stamps, i own many saved letters from now deceased relations that i would love to test, ie grandparents etc.
This is a subject that others might have some knowledge on and can share with us, perhaps any information about the DNA companys that most of use have used in the past and if they intend to do DNA test from stamps or other artifacts, when and who etc would be interesting.
Lets all find out, i think lots of us would like to give it a try.

Lancashire / Would there be a Newspaper death notice in 1920 Lancaster.

I have relation who died in early 1920 in Lancaster, his name was Andrew Maguire, i dont have a sub for newspapers etc but would like to know if they even did obit (death) notices back then and if they did would they have any information about the place of burial ?
Also what would the local newspaper have been called.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Elizabeth Maguire married a Philip Keirnan in 1871 also in Cavan, can anyone tell me who her Mother and father may have been please.
A simple enough question me thinking but one i just cant work out and need helpwith.

United States of America / John Mcguire died 1880 in Springfield Sangamon Illinois.

I need help with a possible relation called John Mcguire (maguire) who died sometime around  November in 1880 in the springfield, Sangamon, Illinois.
if he is the same man i am looking for he would have had a wife called Mary and two daughters that i know of,there names where Mary and Catherine, they would be very young at the time of John's death in 1880.
My John should have been born in Ireland around 1847, 1848 or at least that's what some family think.
Any help or information about this John Mcguire would be very much appreciated.

The Common Room / Will Attachment or letter of explanation.

A friend sent of for a Will for a family member and the info in the will in relation to a person they want to find ( a missing family member ) states that the deceased has left an attachment with the will so that the deceased person can explain why they had left them out of there will.
My friend got the copy of the will but not the attachment.
Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing and if they got to see one when having got a copy of a will.

Anyone know of a shop that sold leather goods in Bristol during the the 1960s, it belonged to a family with the last name of Chafai.

The shop may have been near Knowle.

Cambridgeshire / help to find obituary in a local paper 1993

Hi there.
I have tried the usual places, newspapers , payed websites and such but cant find an obituary notice for a Peter Drake who died aged 70 in 1993, he lived in the Werrington area of Peterborough.
I know the address but wont publish it here, perhaps if a notice was made it was in a local paper that i cant find online.
This really does need a local with local knowledge i think.
Any info that may be recorded in the notice should help with some family history research that i am doing, any help please if possible.

Canada / Help to find Veronica Drake in Lynn Lake mid 1960's

Hi Trying to find information about a relation long since gone, believed to have been in the Lynn Lake area of Manitoba in the mid sixties.
Any help with this or perhaps how to find records from the area would be very welcome, from what i have found is that Lynn Lake is a small town high up in the north of Canada.
