Derry (Londonderry) / Lecky, Cassidy, Flynn & Duddy
« on: Sunday 25 July 10 06:38 BST (UK)  »
My husband Niall's  maternal great grandparents James & Ellen (Cassidy) Lecky were married on 08/08/1881 in the Long Tower (I believe). James was born approx 1845/46 and Ellen was born about 1842/43. James' father was also called James.

Also, Niall's other maternal great grandparents James & Sarah (Duddy) Flynn were married on 23/10/1879. Both James & Sarah were born approx 1859/60. James' mother was called Elizabeth.

Does anybody have any other information on these people? I would appreciate any help

Frances

Tyrone / Woods / Campbell

Has anybody got any Woods or Campbell connection in their 'tree'?
My 3x grandfather was called Allen Woods and his daughter Sarah (my 2x grandmother) married Joseph Campbell (my 2x grandfather) in 1860 at Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church.

Sarah had at least 3 sisters (Eliza, Catherine & Mary), but I don't know anything about Joseph's family except that his father was called William.

Does this information sound familiar with anyone? I have reached a brick wall

Antrim / Thompson/Patterson marriage
« on: Sunday 28 March 10 11:28 BST (UK)  »
I have a bit of a puzzle.

My paternal grandparents (Brice Thompson c.1900 & Emily Patterson b.1902) were supposedly married in St Annes Cathedral in the 1920's. They had 5 children (1 girl & 4 boys), two of which died young in the 1920's. They were left with 3 boys, my father and two uncles

My grandparents were supposedly separated some time after the war and eventually got a divorce. My granddad went to the Isle of Wight to live and got remarried.

First of all, I can't find any record of them being married  ???
or divorced  ??? and I can't find any record of the births/deaths of my young deceased aunt/uncle  ???.

The question is, were my grandparents even married?
Would be grateful if someone could help me.

Derry (Londonderry) / LECKY
« on: Sunday 20 September 09 08:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Has anybody got Lecky's from Derry/Londonderry in their family. My husband's mother was a Lecky before she got married and I found what I believe to be her parent's marriage in 1913 (James & Mary Rose) but nothing else as I am just beginning to do a bit of research for him (actually I've hit a bit of a brick wall with my own side of the family so to kill some time I thought I would do a bit of research on his side, but don't tell him I told you so LOL :)

Could someone please help me and find our Mary Rose' maiden name and anything thing else that may get me started. I do know that my mother-in-law was born in Buncrana and so her maternal side of the family may have come from that direction.

Thank you
Frances

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Thompson / Sanger
« on: Sunday 13 September 09 11:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Looking for information about a Brice Thompson - deceased, and his wife Elizabeth (Sanger) Thompson. Brice (my grandfather) was originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland and lived the second half of his life in the Isle of Wight with Elizabeth - his 2nd wife, his 1st wife had been Emily Patterson - my grandmother. Would like to know more about Brice & Elizabeth, i.e. their date of marriage and his date of death, and also if Elizabeth had any children from previous relationships/marriages.

Any information would be greatly appreciated
Frances (Thompson) Finn
