Cumberland Lookup Requests / Carlisle Cemetery Records
« on: Wednesday 17 March 21 22:22 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know if Carlisle Cemetery records are available online? Or if there are any plans for the burial records to be made available to Ancestry or FindMyPast.
Cheers

Gloucestershire / Waterdale Southmead Road
« on: Friday 06 November 20 13:12 GMT (UK)  »
These were pictures were found in my late mother-in-laws photo album. Probably some relation or family connection but beyond that I have no idea. Waterdale is a substantial house so I was wondering if anyone knew it and the family that lived there. Photos look about 1920. The photos have written on the back "Waterdale" at the corner of Southmead Road and Henlease (sic) Road. I can see from Google that the house has long gone.

Gloucestershire / Bird and Power families of Bristol
« on: Sunday 11 October 20 16:28 BST (UK)  »
Is anybody researching or descended from the Bird or Power families of Bristol? Birds were originally from Abbots Leigh but lived in Bedminster. Powers were originally from Suffolk. There is also a Cardiff connection.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / DNA match
« on: Monday 17 August 20 11:53 BST (UK)  »
For those who have used the Ancestry DNA test. I have the following query. With the list of cousin matches you get, is there a simple way of grouping them into family lineage? I message many but not many reply. For example, if I’m trying to establish a connection to a specific family branch of a matched cousin (that I haven’t worked out yet as that part of the tree hasn’t been explored). Sould other known family matched cousins have  the same dna connections?
Hope that makes sense.

Armed Forces / Labour Corps
« on: Saturday 23 May 20 11:17 BST (UK)  »
I have an ancestor that according to his medal cards and army pension records he was in the Labour Corp but his cap badge looks like an Irish regiment as I can make out a harp. I'm a bit confused as his records says that he enlisted in 1915 and I know the Labour Corp didn't exist until 1917. So did regiments have their own labour corps sections?

He was a Lance Corporal.

Thanks

Denbighshire / Burial of Gwen Jones
« on: Friday 04 October 19 19:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have just received the death certificate of my gt.gt.gt grandmother Gwen Jones 27th Oct 1844 (registered 29th) of Bethel (Melin-y-coed) just south of Llanrwst town.
Naturally I would like to find her burial but as I believe she was Calvinist Methodists would I still expect to find her in the Llanrwst Parish Register?

Thanks

Westmorland Lookup Requests / Baptism at Clifton near Penrith
« on: Wednesday 13 March 19 13:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I hoping someone would be kind enough to look for a baptism of a William Mounsey son of William Mounsey who was born at Clifton, Westmorland between 1818 - 1822. I'm hoping it will name his mother.

Cheers

Lancashire / Minto Street
« on: Thursday 07 February 19 10:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with a relatively simple look up request.

Robert Jones and Mary Jones who were married in 1888 at Christ Church, Kensington, Liverpool. The certificate states they were both living at 57 Minto Street. They are not there in 1881 or 1891 censuses.

I'm hoping that the electoral rolls for that address will show either Robert Jones or Mary's father Lewis Jones.

Fingers crossed

Kind Regards

If anyone can help that would be great thanks
