Cheshire / Parrs Salt Meadow Widnes
« on: Thursday 30 April 20 07:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm trying to locate properties in the late 1700's in Widnes (Lancashire before the change to Cheshire) called Parrs Salt Meadow, Two Coal Brows and Widnes Moor which had been with a William Wright b1729. According to his will he left the parcels of land to his sons. Does anyone know of old ordnance maps etc that may show where they had been located. I believe Widnes Moor is where Moors Lane is today, however that is just speculation.
Any help would be much appreciated.

United States of America / SSN confusion
« on: Sunday 23 February 20 03:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Researching my wife's 2x Gt Grandfather Richard Fisher (born in Chorley UK 4 Jun 1875) and have come across his SSN applications and claims index entry in Ancestry when he lived in America. The first part of the entry is correct which has his name Richard Fisher and DOB, claim date of 5 Sep 1950, SSN: 133144091. However, he moved back to the UK on the 18 Nov 1957 and the last entry for his application and claim has a note saying 01 Oct 1976:Name is listed as RICHARD FISHER. Why would it have a note for 1976 restating his name in capitals when he was no longer in country? He died in 1963 Warrington UK.

From Le Havre he joined the Royal Scots at Cinder City. Any information on the ship or passenger lists would be much appreciated. His name is William Wallace Rodger

The last part is the Royal Liver Building Liverpool.  This information will enable me to research who my Grandfather worked for and did before the war. World War One / Regimental Numbers
« on: Friday 11 January 19 05:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking up an ancestor William Crompton DOB abt 1899 WW1 service records and noticed he has 3 regimental numbers.  The first number I know the reason for (22214) as he was underage and got kicked out, the 14790 would be him re-enlisting again. However not sure about the last number below.
Regimental Numbers: 14790, 54675
I know I have the same person has it has the same address (89 Grafton St, Helens) on all the forms and his mothers name also.
It appears he was a POW and got repatriated in 1918, would this explain the other number?
Any help would be much appreciated.

« on: Thursday 31 May 18 10:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I would be interested to know where (if possible) I could obtain the court records of an ancestor of mine who was sent to prison for an assault committed in 1902. I obtained the criminal record sheet giving what they had been sentenced, description and parole but would like to see the court documents of what was said throughout the proceedings.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Lancashire / Prison document
« on: Thursday 31 May 18 08:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I found a prison record of an ancestor of mine and would like help in knowing where they went once released as this is listed on the document.
On the form it has the headings: date of Liberation, intended address and occupation.
My ancestor has 11-5-1907 as their Date of Liberation, intended address as Catholic D.P.A.S St Helens and occupation as Labourer. What is the D.P.A.S and where in St Helens would it have been located.  Any help would be much appreciated.
