Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Look Up request please, Terence Hanbury Jnr birth
« on: Friday 27 October 23 14:49 BST (UK)  »
 Fellow Rootschatters,

I'm in need of some assistance, if possible, to confirm Terence Hanbury Jr was born in the Pembroke Docks area between 1873-1875 but I've failed miserably. There just does not seem to be a record of a birth in this name anywhere in Wales as far as I can tell. I have an inkling that perhaps his birth may not have been registered but would have thought that a baptism would have taken place soon after his birth as the parents were both of the RC faith.

Info I already have

His father Terence Hanbury Snr was discharged from the army at Pembroke Docks in 1873, on his discharge document he states that he intends to stay in the area. TH senior was married in Dublin in 1871 to Mary Toole and they had a daughter Annie before marriage.

By 1875 the couple are back in Dublin where they have a second daughter, Catherine born that year.
My first confirmed sighting of TH Jr is on the Irish 1901 census where he states that he was born in Wales, lodging with the Duignam family and he married their daughter Mary later on in 1901 and died in 1909.

Any help, thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Regards

Cork / Kathleen Mullane, Rathclare
« on: Sunday 24 September 23 12:22 BST (UK)  »
 Hello fellow Roots chatters,

Hoping very much someone here has a family connection or knowledge of Kathleen (Kitty) Mullane daughter of Patrick Mullane and Mary Collins. Kitty was born in 1917 in Rathclare, Buttevant and worked as an unmarried house servant up until at least 1945 when she disappeared off my radar.
I have checked death and marriages after that time period using kathleen/ Catherine or Kate /Kitty but cannot positively identify which if any records might relate to her. Her fathers Mullane family also had a strong link to Doneraile if this is of any help.
I'm posting this in the hope that someone may have her on their family tree and offer thanks for any help or guidance.

Regards, Scatty

This group photo I believe was taken circa 1929 to 1932 going by clothes worn. Another suggestion by family member is that it was taken in mid 1940s
I'm trying to determine if its my mother in group or her younger cousin, they have very similar looks.
Looking forward to hearing member views

Pembrokeshire / Hanbury mystery man
« on: Friday 29 June 18 13:57 BST (UK)  »
I am currently researching  a Dublin Hanbury family and have been unable to locate a Welsh birth record for one Terence Hanbury Jnr born c 1874 " Wales " i.e that is according to the 1901 Dublin census when he is lodging with his future wife Mary Duignam and her family.

When his father (also named Terence) applied for discharge and pension from the army in 1873 while in Dublin he states that his intended place of residence will be Pembroke Dock, South Wales which would fit with T H Jnr birth year. The family could only have been in Wales between 1873 and 1875 as subsequent children were born back in in Dublin between 1875 and 188I.
As birth search resulted a zero result I am now thinking along the lines of an RC baptismal record but I really do not have any idea if there are any Welsh Catholic  records  available on line so would be more than grateful for any suggestions please. as where to start looking.
Also for ref, his mother was Mary Toole.
Regards to all,Scatty

Offaly (Kings) / Who is Elizabeth/Lizzie/Eliza Brophy's father
« on: Thursday 12 October 17 18:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I have attached what i have on my paternal great grandmother in the hope that i can confirm her father's name once and for all,is it John as she states or Joseph ?
On her marriage in 1898 it gives her father as being John Brophy and in 1901 ( Lizzie Cormack ) with a Brophy family as daughter to John head of family and in 1911 (Elizabeth McCormac ) with my grandfather John age 12.
BUT the only birth record I can find is one for Elizabeth Brophy dau of Joseph Brophy and Mary Carty and is around the correct year.
I have searched for births with second name Elizabeth just in case she goes by an alternate name but not found any and her death record also states Elizabeth on the entry.
Does anyone else on here have her on their tree and would welcome suggestions or opinions as to which father seems more likely.
For now I have her with Joseph and Mary B as their daughter as opposed to John and Mary B until I can prove either way.
I do apprediate all help received

Many thanks for viewing
