Hi I wonder if anyone can gain access to the above records please?
I'm looking for the details of a marriage between George Walker and Jane Kirby, Dec qtr 1922.
It's George's father and possibly witnesses I'm most interested in please?
If you pass by any mention of Keeley or Brannigan entries could you just jot them down please?

Forever grateful.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / EDMONDSON, Ellel, Lancs
« on: Monday 15 October 07 16:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am hoping someone can help push me in the right direction please?

I am trying to find out the maiden name of Mary born c1804 Ellel, Lancs.

She married John Edmondson and they had their first known 2 children, James born c1826 and Ann born c1831 in Ellel according to census.

They moved then to Bradford, Yorks having another 3 known children.

John died 1841-1851 and Mary survived him until at least 1871.

She lived close to Bamford family members also from Ellel, who I am trying to find connections to, bit of a coincidence she was born Ellel,, living in Bradford next to  Ellel born Bamford's.

Was she related to Francis Bamford born c1809 Ellel, also moved to Bradford?

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Yoz

Dublin / MORRIN from Dublin, 1830-50
« on: Sunday 08 July 07 21:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,
This name does not seem to come up in searches too often, I am hoping someone might be able to help me along please?

I don't have much to go on, sorry.

Isaac Morrin was born c1846 Dublin and moved to Wirral, Cheshire, England before 1869 when his first son Benjamin was born and he subsequently married Louisa Ann Wyer.  His father was listed as Benjamin Morrin, joiner.

Isaac and Louisa had a son Isaac Shafton Morrin born 1875. Now on ancestry an american family has traced a certain Benjamin Shafton Morrin born 1837 in Dublin.

What is the likelyhood that this is a coincidence and not related at all, how common was the name Shafton?

The Utah Morrin's were headed according to research by Benjamin Morrin born c1811 Ireland and Hannah, was she Hannah Shafton? Where there more children to this couple?

Any suggestions would be very welcome , thank you..

US Lookup Requests / Holt EDMONDSON born 1849 Lancs Eng
« on: Tuesday 27 February 07 16:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this man or his family please, I would be grateful for any leads no matter how tenuous.

Holt Edmondson was born c1849 Chorlton, Lancashire, England and married Mary Jane Atherton in 1872, Manchester.
Holt is registered in the Slaters Directory in Ardwick, Lancs in 1877/8, then they disappear.
They are not to be found in the UK 1881 census or later.

In the US census 1900 a Holt EDMONSTEN appears in San Francisco as a lodger with a Law family, the census film is damaged and no other details are readable so I cannot confirm his age, just that it looks as though he was born in England.

The story goes that Holt's brother Alfred born c1856 North Wales went to the USA and returned to England by 1890, he is possibly entered on the 1880 US Manhatten census but again there's nothing definite on that.

If you spot Holt and or his wife Mary in any of the resources you have available I would very much like to hear from you, I would'nt imagine it was a common name really, where was he between 1878 UK and 1900 US and after?

Thank, here's hoping,
Yoz

Canada Lookup Request / Canada to UK John Dillon, help please?
« on: Friday 26 January 07 22:27 GMT (UK)  »
HI,
Not sure if this is a needle in the proverbial haystack but any pointers would be appreciated.

John Dillon was born 12 Sept 1856 (family bible) in..2 census say Canada, 1 census says US to Thomas Dillon born c1831 Whiston, Lancashire, UK and Ann (poss. Holt) born c1835 Whiston, lancs.

He had a brother Isaac born c1858 all census say Canada.

The family were back in the UK by 1864 and not apparent in the UK census for 1861.

Can anyone suggest how to proceed with this, how to narrow down where John was born and when Thomas & Ann travelled out in the first place please?

I think Thomas was still single and in the UK 1851 census living in Devon, a carpenter and was one for the rest of his life.

So maybe he travelled 1851 and returned on or before 1864.

Thanks,
Sue
