Hertfordshire / STURMAN-Kings Langley(Red Lion Pub, Waterside)
« on: Wednesday 18 November 09 12:38 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching this family for a friend's tree (Xmas present!). George STURMAN was the landlord of the Red Lion pub on Waterside between c1855 and  1871 according to census returns and trade directories. Has anyone a) got a picture of the pub I could use in my presentation?
and b) any links to the family- I have George's parents as Thomas STURMAN and Sarah UNDERWOOD, m 1788 St Albans.

London and Middlesex / CLARK/E and COLBOURNE family London c1840
« on: Friday 14 November 08 21:34 GMT (UK)  »
Searching for a CLARK/E family in London, namely Henry and wife Susannah. They married 30/9/1840 in St Bride, Fleet Street, and gave their place of residence as Paul St, Finsbury. Henry was son of Charles, Gentleman, and Susannah, nee COLBOURNE was daughter of Thomas, also a Gentleman. I have 2 sons- Charles Thomas Colbourne CLARKE, b 1844 at 50 , Commercial Road, Lambeth, and George b 1849. I have checked these addresses and areas on census returns, yet can find no trace of any Henry who fits the bill. Susannah and the 2 sons were resident at 3 London St, Paddington in 1851 - she is not described as a widow, but I cannot find any record which really pinpoints her and her husband after that. There are so many deaths under the name, so finding it hard to get a handle on their birth/death dates. Hoping someone can help, has them in their tree or knows where to look next!

BLAND born, according to census returns, c 1811, Denbighshire, married Fanny WOODBRIDGE (nee LEWIS) before 1841, most likely in Middlesex. Hamilton worked as a gardener in Finchley, and died in 1863. Stuck fast here, any help greatly appreciated!
