Technical Help / Long Running Script
« on: Monday 20 March 17 17:42 GMT (UK)  »
My computer seems to have developed a glitch, whereby most sites that I click on take time to actually load into, when I click the mouse a message comes up below saying "Long running script" with a ok box which it invites the user to press.
Regardless, it takes its time and then goes into whatever I have requested.
Any clues whats wrong members please ??

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Wymer
« on: Monday 27 July 15 17:08 BST (UK)  »
Once again I ask for help from RootsChat.
I have an ancestor, Jacob Wymer, b.circa 1756.
He was married twice, once  to a Susannah Gilbert and then a Elizabeth Moll.
It is about Jacob that I pose a question.
Many family trees have him born in South Walsham to parents John Wymer and Elizabeth, but I cannot find any evidence to verify this, and cannot include this in my tree.
On page 7/29 in 1759  in the South Walsham St Mary Parish Records there is an entry Sarah & Jacob, children of John and Elizabeth Wymer, baptised December 23rd.
I cannot find his birth record.
On page 26/29 in 1809 August 31st there is a record that Elizabeth wife of John Wymer, died aged 27 years ( That would make her born in 1782) much later after Jacob was born in 1750's.
This suggests that Elizabeth was a second wife of John Wymer ?
Have I missed a trick here ?, South Walsham St Mary could well be where he was born (There is also a Wymer Lane locally) but can you see a link anyone please ?
Thank you.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / John Thomas Henry
« on: Monday 07 April 14 20:08 BST (UK)  »
Could anybody help me please ?
I am trying to get back to the parents of John Thomas Henry.
John's marriage lines states 22 years old when getting married in 1895, his Death certificate of 1902 aged 28 years points to a birth about 1874.
I note a John Thomas born in that year from a place named Haslingden, Lancashire.
Trying to trace his family from Census records, show many other place names in Lancashire that I am not sure if its that area or not.
On the marriage lines of 1895, it lists his father as a John Henry (Deceased) occupation, Painter.
Any possible help to put me on the right path would be appreciated.

London and Middlesex / Can I count on you again for help ?
« on: Monday 17 September 12 21:54 BST (UK)  »
Could anybody out there help me  find a reason why ?

My father in law was born in 1914, in Wandsworth, his name was Samuel
He had brothers and sisters, who lived at 28, Hazelhurst Road, Tooting.
The parents were named Charles William Meredith and his wife was Agnes, nee Hartley.
Samuels sister Rose was born two years after him in July 1916, same address.
Here comes the tricky bit................. on Samuels birth certificate the mother is down as A.Meridith, with the father down as William Meridith, with the mothers maiden surname down as "Formerly Dunn", of 28, Hazelhurst Road, Tooting, why or what reason could there be for this different set of names / and why the change in the spelling of the surname to Meridith instead of Meredith.
I can understand if the registrar spelled the name wrong, but why the different mothers maiden surname ?
I have tried to find a "William Meridith" or/and a "Agnes Dunn", but have drawn a blank, what do you think ??
Also Samuel said he was brought up as a youngster by the "nuns", would anybody have access to any record of him at perhaps at a school in Tooting perhaps run by nuns ?
Thanks in anticipation
regards
