Antrim / Joseph Darby Marriage 22/05/1846 Belfast
« on: Sunday 31 July 11 16:48 BST (UK)  »
My query is regarding  a Marriage record I have from Co Antrim . It state Joseph Darby married Anne Quin @St Patrick's Belfast RC, Shankill Co Antrim.  I am looking for a marriage for Joseph Darby around that date, however the wifes name was Anne Gunn. Whilst going though my research the name Gunn has been transcribed as Quin several times, and Quin transcribed as Gunn. Is it possible for the original to be seen I only have a transcribed copy.
Advice or help would be appreciated
Thank you
Ann

Help wanted please in locating records for Ann Gunn, She first appears in England on 1851 census with husband Joseph Darby. I can then follow them until their deaths in Eng. Joseph was a Cabinet Maker all his life . Born in Belfast. Ann was born in Co. Monaghan both born @1825. I think the family where RC.

I have evidence of their son John's bapt in1854,in North Shields. They had an 2 daughtesr Elizabeth Ann bn.1850 in England, & Ann J. born 1852.

In 1861 the Darby family also were living in Manchester with 2 more children Mary& Joseph plus Mary Gunn sister in law.

In 1871 census son John Darby was living with aunt & uncle Hugh& Elizabeth Gunn in Manchester learning his uncles trade as a Plasterer. Also there was Catherine Darby (aunt) All born Co Monaghan.

The Joseph Darby family are in Huddersfield where they remained.

The 1851 census shows Hugh Gunn, is living in Manchester with his parents Andrew Gunn & Wife Mary,+ 4 siblings.  Hugh was born @1841 and is the youngest child, his siblings Andrew Bn.1833, Mary @1830,Michael 1835, Francis 1839 all  ??? ???born in Co Monaghan.
