Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Gravestone Name puzzle
« on: Sunday 03 March 24 04:27 GMT (UK)  »
The surname on this Gravestone for Helen Baxter ? died 1936 is difficult to read.
The Grave in Perthshire, Scotland first used in 1890 had various family members interred in later years, many with the second given name of Baxter.

As well as the surname is it possible to read the age at Death?
Kind regards

Also, the Geneanet Index has a Jackie Simpson Family Tree featuring this family.  As I am not a Geneanet Member could someone send me this data?

A big ask I know.

I believe Llanfrothen and Llannfordun  are both in Merionethshire so direct my enquiries here.
Any help would be appreciated to find information re this gentleman and his ancestors/descendants
and his history as a maker of longcase clocks.

The Common Room / Was Tom Owen a clockmaker?
« on: Wednesday 06 December 23 06:05 GMT (UK)  »
My apologies if this question breaks any rules.

A few weeks back I posted a message asking for any information re a Tom Owen who manufactured long case clocks.  I received not one reply.

I thought it strange for someone to sign a clock as "Tom" rather than "Thomas" for a clock made in the 17 or 1800s.
Can anyone please give me some clues where to look --- Wales, England, Ireland, America?
