World War One / Memorials
« on: Saturday 30 May 15 10:12 BST (UK)  »

Good morning all,   Orphans with no known family in the UK and there were so many, who signed up to fight for their Country 1914-1918 and died for it ,they have no mention on any of our memorials and they should be. This is so because if there was no one to put their names forward to Councils for inclusion it simply did,nt appear on their list,s . This was brought to my attention from a cousin in Australia ,about a near relative ,although he had family and his mother forwarded details for his name to be on the Australian War Memorial, there is no mention of him in the City he emigrated to, because she wasn,t aware she needed to advise them he had died ,this was the mother of Robert M Beatham, VC. Is this the case in the UK ?.
I have previously posted this on the Great War Forum, although they have given lots of feedback nothing concrete about these our forgotten Hero,s.  Can anyone clarify this for me please. Thank you for your time reading this.Tsumi
