Australia Resources & Offers / Honeysuckle Point near Newcastle NSW
« on: Thursday 18 April 24 03:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Does anyone know what this area might be called/come under now? I've looked on G Maps and there doesn't seem to be a settlement of any sort there now. What "suburb" might it have come under in abt 1864

Thanks in advance

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date of photo please early 20C
« on: Thursday 18 April 24 01:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Have a photo of Frederick and Percival Robinson, taken in NSW. I'm trying to tie down an age at death of Frederick, (bn abt 1838) the older man. The latest date of any DCs I can find I have is 1918 and the age on that one is 86. The younger man Percy, was bn in 1878 and he died in 1949 aged 71.

There must be another DC that I can't find because it looks to me that that Percy is abt. 40 and Frederick abt. 80. So... the question is do the clothes look like pre WW1 or a lot later?

Many thanks for your advice

Cambridgeshire / Joseph Robinson and Elizabeth Stearn/e
« on: Tuesday 02 April 24 05:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have this image of m. of Joseph and Elizabeth Stearn/e. Am trying to track their parents and wonder if the Ellen on this register extract might be Elizabeth's mother?

Thought Stearn/e would be relatively uncommon but not so much I think. The church looks to be St Andrew the Less. I think they would have been abt 17 or 18yrs old in 1833

Any guidance would be appreciated
Thank you

« on: Friday 12 January 24 00:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I have a friend who is beginning her research now she's retired and I wonder if people could suggest the best software please? I use FTM 19 and find it is very useful for my needs but there may be new or easier ones around.
Requirements
- easy to navigate
- possible free subscription to a FH website?
- photos, trees etc
- ability to interface with other members of her family ie ability for family members to add in their research to the same tree
- she is only interested in the UK

Many thanks

Hi
Does anyone know where/when I might find images for Bucks? Have looked everywhere for images for this county (as well as Herts) with no luck. Unfortunately, being in Aust we can't visit the RO.  Beginning to think they aren't online anywhere

Thanks in advance for advice
