The Common Room / Death records in 2022
« on: Saturday 19 August 23 01:31 BST (UK)  »
Im unsure if anyone did a topic on this , on ancestry i was a bit alarmed that the death records up to 2022,  shows full birth and death dates along with first set of postcode and full names.

I ususally used GOV UK GRO death index , only goes up to 2021, it shows just the year of death and the year of birth and the surname, the first two christian names and third is just first letter of third christian name.

So how does ancestry get full info?  I thought we have 20 years rule?

 :ok

Hello, this is a bit weird....I tried everything - who are they?

Emily Kitcatt died 9 th April 1915 age 56

Margaret Grace Kitcatt died 14 Dec 1924 age 60

I got their GRO death records, died in Poole, Dorset. I saw the grave where they were buried together.

The Common Room / Griffith Barnard Jones
« on: Tuesday 10 August 21 02:14 BST (UK)  »
I gave it up searching for Griffith Barnard Jones who married to Elizabeth Jane Gallop in Dorset in 1921. He was born in 1873 in where I don’t know. His father was John.  Elizabeth was born in 1881 in Dorset. Griffith was a widower on the marriage certificate. I saw find a grave website showing his name but no birthdate nor who was his wife! All I need was Elizabeth’s whereabouts or death after 1921. I tried 1939 England Register on ancestry but no luck.

Any magic please?

Wales / Blodwin Jones
« on: Friday 17 March 17 20:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am confused on the Jones family. I have the marriage cert of Blodwin Jones, age 19, spinster married on 23rd June 1913 at Pengam, Bedwelley, Monmouth to Edwin Luffman. Blodwin's father was William Jones,a coalminer. Blodwin's address was 20 Greenfield, New Tredegar.

I found Blodwin on 1911 census with the same address 20 Greenfield, lived with her parents William and Mary. They married for 34 years and have one child, I assumed its Blodwin, look at age gaps between parents and daughter.

Going back to 1901, I found her as a granddaughter of William and Mary! Along with William, Mary, Blodwin, was son David William and his wife Jane daughter in law and another granddaughter Mary E Jones, I assumed Mary E was a daughter of David and Jane.

But on 1911 census, David and Jane lived next door to William and Mary, stated they married for 10 years and have no children!

I ordered the birth cert of Blodwin Jones with the help of death record of Blodwin Luffman, stated her birth date and I thought it was easy to find her but no GRO couldn't find her!

I think William and Mary and David and Jane were confused - they may not sure in 1911 but more clearly in 1901.

Without Welsh parish records on ancestry, I am stuck and confused!

Can you do some magic please?
