i am interested in finding any information about a battalion of 74th iimperial yeomanry raised in Dublin and in particular an engage ment at Griquetown in s.a.   my wife's grandfather Tpr.VinentConroy was wounded during this action

my grandfather william henry newell joined the royal berkshire reg.t.a.as a private in 1908 in maidenhead  his war medals are inscribed csm at the time of demob. although the rate of attrition was high that is a big leap in rank. is there anywhere where one could tracae the how a nd where the promotion was ?      thankyou graham

looking for any information re James Conroy solr clerkwho died age 69  in Cavan workhouse i have been told that in later years this doubled as a hospital  his death reg. was in 1900 . further info is that he married in Derry 1878 already a widower his only child frances vincent was born in  cashel co tipp his father john claims to have been a hotel keeper but was already deceased in i878. his wife mary eliza mcaleenan appears only for the marriage and birth of son. can anybody add anything to this please

in 1878 james conroy married mary eliza mcaleenan in the st columba's church derry at tne time of that marriagre he is shown as a widower   would he have require A LETTER OF FREEDOM from his previous parish and if so doues any one know if it was lodged anywhere

i am looking for any information re the death of the above lady. she was born joyce n fanning into a protestant family in lismere co waterford ireland in 1903  she became a roman catholic a decision not popular with her family in 1931 she married alphonsus conroy in dublin her husband died in 1961 in london where they then lived. she returned to ireland where she became a housekeeper and we lost touch   i have tried ancestry  but come up with nothing  the lady in question is my wife's aunt .

This photo is of the 6Th Bn Royal Berkshire Reg taken we believe prior to 1914 it hung in my grandfathers house until his death   he was CSM william Henry Newell by the tine of his demob If anybody has any information as to the location or indeed people in this photo i would be grateful

i am looking the grave of harry edward newell he was born in maidenhead in1893 and had a number of siblings including my grandfather william henry newell on the 24/3/1918 he died in a miliatary hosp. in rouen france   can anybody suggest where i might find this either in france or maidfnhead

in 1878 james conroy married mary eliza mcaleenan our information is sketchy they married in the long church derry  his father was described as a hotel keeptr but where is not shown However we also have a record that at the time ok his marriage he was widower   can anyone suggest a route by which we might find details of marriage no 1     thanks graham
