It appears our address book has been got at, I used dropbox last year to gather info from Sweden, perfectly fine, recently I thought a relative in England was sending me info via dropbox, WRONG, it is a scam, I have received emails from people asking me about it but we haven't sent it on, so I can only assume it is a scam, so please be careful

I might add that Dropbox is perfectly OK, till someone comes along and causes a problem

I have for years been hunting my husband's Gt Grandfather's birth, Henry Alexander Bragg.

I have found him from his marriage onwards, on all census birth appears to be circa 1847 ish but on his death it is 1852, I have the cert, census place of birth Strand then Lambeth,  have never found a birth registration or baptisms in Strand or Lambeth for him under Henry Alexander Bragg, with unusual Christian names I would have thought it would be easier,

Henry's  first daughter had the name Elizabeth Caroline so I have been hunting for either an Elizabeth Bragg or Caroline as his mother , on his marriage Henry Alexander Bragg states father was Edward as an artist, we have searched that and came up with nothing at all.

There is an Elizabeth Bragg show traveller/traveller born Newington, I cannot find her anywhere else except 1871/1881 census as a show traveller born newington and  a  possible death. I am now wondering if Edward was an artiste which would make sense IF Elizabeth Bragg was his wife, show traveller, I have tried entering show traveller in the box on Ancestry but nothing comes up,1871 and 1881 she is a widow, can't find anything else about her or him

I have also put a search for H A Bragg on  London RC. prior to this

Any help much appreciated

Essex / Thorndon Park Graveyard
« on: Saturday 24 March 18 07:05 GMT (UK)  »

I am looking to find more information about a grave in the Anglican Graveyard Thorndon Park, I have  what is “Essex Memorial Inscriptions Transcription “,  there is no memorial inscription but it leads me to a CD volume S E Essex Vol 1 reference 16, Can anyone tell me where this might be held, ?

The young person concerned died in Ingrave, unfortunately no more information, she was born in London 1864, 1871 she was in a Catholic school in St Pancras, St Aloysius, Clarendon Sq,  ,
REF    RG10/221 FOLIO 110 PAGE 4,
with her sister, and now her death, aged 16 in Ingrave, I have no idea why she was in this area unless she was at a Catholic boarding school in Ingrave , I have no idea where these records are kept if at all,

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

London and Middlesex / MYOPIC SCHOOL HAMMERSMITH 1915
« on: Tuesday 30 January 18 17:13 GMT (UK)  »
I feel really sad, I have just found my fathers school record, Barbly Road, (Ladbroke Grove)
admitted 09/03/1914 and on 16/04/1915 he was discharged to Myopic School Hammersmith, does anyone know where this would be and where the records are please

Bit of the history
My father always had poor eyesight, he apparently had 14 operations on his eye till during an operation a nerve was severed, so he believed, and that was passed to me, he always worked and in 1958 was made redundant from the United Dairies Shirland Road where he had been a groom for some years till they mechanised,  he was then give a disabled card and registered blind, this broke his heart, but, after 2 years at a blind centre in Waterloo he was given a "taxi boys cabin" by the side of Praed Street, (Paddington Station) he sold anything the taxi boys wanted ice cream, drinks cigarettes and anything they asked for , he and my mother worked there till he was 70, they made very good friends with the taxi boys as my mother called them

I digress but I want to know more about the myopic school if possible

Thank you
