Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Marriage in Uttoxeter
« on: Friday 27 April 18 20:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
I have a John Bond marrying Sarah Spencer on 17.6.1661. in Uttoxeter.  If anyone has access to Philimores for Uttoxeter (assuming he did Uttoxeter), would you kindly have a look and see if their parishes are mentioned?
Many thanks in advance
Regards
Pauline.

Hi all,
Findmypast has a marriage in Duffield in June 1676 for a John L? Marrying Eleanor Webster.
If anyone has access to Duffield's records, or even perhaps Phillimores would they be kind enough to have a look and see if his surname is legible?
Many thanks

Europe / John Ingamells
« on: Saturday 26 August 17 12:01 BST (UK)  »
I have some old information from the Familysearch site that John Ingamells who married, had kids and died in Lincolnshire, was actually born in Germany in 1740, which I don't wholly trust.
Does anyone know any way of verifying this?
Many thanks

London and Middlesex / Occupations
« on: Monday 06 March 17 16:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi - can someone help me with a 1841 census for St Saviours Southwark, address Borough Market?  There is an occupation consisting of only two initials.  It looks like J.T. or T J.  The strange thing is it only applies to young women!!

Many thanks

Derbyshire / Scropton parish register

I notice that this (and other registers locally) only start  around 1680. Does anyone know what happened before that? Was there no church or simply no records kept?
Many thanks.

The Common Room / Truancy in 1890s Spitalfields
« on: Thursday 18 August 16 14:46 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to discover what happened to young boys who consistently played truant back in the 1890s.  My grandfather and his younger brother were expelled from St Annes Boys Scbool in Whitechapel/Spitalfields.  Does anyone know what would have happened to them?  Would the parents have been prosecuted?

My two grandfathers both "ran away to sea".  One of them was only 14 years of age.  Both lived in East London - where do I start looking?

Many thanks

Hi - Can anyone help me trace Michael Hurley, parents Ellen (formerly Collins) and William Hurley (news vendor) living at 14 Steward Street, Old Artillery Grounds, Spitalfields in 1895?  I have not been able to find them in any of the censuses.

Many thanks
