New Zealand Completed Requests / Thames Hospital History and 150th Reunion Nov 2018
« on: Thursday 17 August 17 05:05 BST (UK)  »
Hoping I can share here about the Thames Hospital 150th Anniversary & Reunion 2-3 November 2018. While wanting to write a book on the history of the hospital we want to alert past staff and encourage contributions of stories for the book. Staff Memories of working at the hospital. Please can you let anyone you know who was connected with the hospital.

If you had an ancestor that worked at Thames Hospital you may have some old photographs or stories that could also be added or displayed on the weekend.
Many thanks
Althea

Technical Help / Converting PDFs with rgb images to cmyk for printer
« on: Friday 16 June 17 08:05 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone used any free programmes that will convert images to cmyk format.
I was going to change each image before placing it in word doc, but searching internet it says word will save as rgb format anyway,

If I get docs printed as they are the colours are dark and generally bland.
Thanks
Althea

New Zealand Completed Requests / Thames NZ 150th Commemoration FYI
« on: Friday 09 June 17 21:10 BST (UK)  »
Many of you will have had ancestors who spent some time at the Thames from the time the Goldfield opened 1st August 1867.
Just passing on for your information that the organisers are updating their events pages. So keep in touch at: http://www.thamesheritage.co.nz/goldfields

There is a big day on the 1st August, people will gather at the Thames Civic Hall for presentations on the 150th Commemorations. But there are Catholic Church and School Reunions, Church of Christ Reunions, Parawai School Reunions. Plus from August on the stamper battery at the Goldmine Experience is going to 'go live.'

There are at least two book launches, photographic displays and the usual heritage week in March 2018.
I am not connected to any of these organisations just passing on the news :)

Bye

New Zealand Completed Requests / Shortland Cemetery, Thames
« on: Sunday 05 March 17 05:36 GMT (UK)  »
I've been helping adding names to Shortland Cemetery in Thames to findagrave, along incredible amount of help from another researcher. We have only added basic information and some may need correcting. Also putting headstones and notices etc if we have them.

If anyone has family buried in this cemetery and can add some info it would be much appreciated. You can take over the care of the memorial also if you want.
The link to the site is https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=173443379&CRid=2298534&

Many thanks, every little bit helps. We thought it would be great to help commemorate Thames' 150th a goldfield this year to find out more about the early settlers.
Bye
