Shropshire / JANE NORRIS 1605

Hi....

Does anyone have any info on JANE NORRIS 1605 - 1673. Baptism documented as being in Tipton, Staffs.

Other trees have her father as ELLIS NORRIS but I suspect that it may be a THOMAS NORRIS!

I believe she married EVAN BOWEN in 1626. Getting confused!!!!

Family History Beginners Board / Thomas BOWEN 1782

Hi..

I am confused re my 4th G Grandfather THOMAS BOWEN 1782 - 1861 Born in Bromyard, Herefordshire. I have found a marriage to SARAH DERRY 1778 - on 13th June 1814. This same Sarah is documented on the census for 1841 as Thomas Bowen's wife.

However, in the 1851 census, Sarah's birth year is given as 1818

There is a 10 month old infant listed on this census.

I assume that Sarah DERRY passed away between the census years and Thomas remarried. I have found a marriage for Thomas and SARAH BAKER 12th Feb 1850.

My problem is that I cannot find a death for Sarah DERRY!

I'M currently investigating my Richings side of the family.. MY GG Grandfather was George Richings B 1815 D 1868 in Martley.. He was resident in Winchcombe. He married Eliza (Elizabeth) Baugh on 10th March 1844.. He is documented as being widowed. However, I cannot find a previous marriage for him!!

I dont know if anyone can help.. i have come up against a brick wall!! $:-\$

I am in possession of my paternal grandmothers death certificate. Her name was Ruth Etta RICHINGS. She died on 4th of December 1971 at Hawthorn Cottage, Stoney Road, Garndiffaith, Wales.

The death was registered by (*). I cannot find any information about her whats so ever..

Somerset / betty collard

Hi

In researching my family tree, i have discovered that my 6th g grandmother was Betty Collard B 1738 in Wiviscombe, Somerset. I have seen conflicting trees that state she was married to John Hill or Richard Hill 1732 - 1809 or both!!!

I have not managed to obtain any concrete evidence for any of this!!

Any ideas

Herefordshire / The Baugh family from Marden in Herefordshire

I have just started researching another branch of my family tree.

I have got back to Henry Baugh born in Marden in 1565 down to Elizabeth Baugh born 1819. She married into the Richings family and was my g g grandmother.

Just wondered if anyone had any further info regarding them and why they moved to South Wales.

Does anyone have any hints on tracing Norwegian birth/baptism records. My great grandfather, Johan Bernhard Johanson (Johnson) born abt 1853 in a village outside Oslo according to family hearsay. I have his marriage certificate which records his father as Oliver a carpenter.
He married Mary Elizabeth Davies (mother Mary Jane Trewarthata) in Newport South Wales on 1st October 1883.
I'm also having trouble accessing the Norwegian Cenus!

I am trying to gather more information about my paternal grandmother. Her name was Ruth Etta Richings born in Garndiffaith in 1889. Her parents were Henry Richings born in 1853 in Buscot, Leicestershire. Her mother was Ann Morgan? born in 1855 - 1936.

Ruth was born 4/12/1889 and died in Pontypool in 1971. I have found any record on the 1911 census other than a Ruth Riching at Camp Road in the Wales Census Summary of that year. I am not entirely convinced that this entry is my grandmother!

She had several siblings and half siblings, therefore she must have had some relations somewhere.
My fathers name (her son)was born in Stoney Road, Garndiffaith in 1919. His name was Cyril Johnson Richings. No father recorded on the birth certificate although I do know who he was.
Any info gratefully received.
