Carmarthenshire / Please help me: find Bridget GRIFFITH's parents
« on: Saturday 28 April 18 21:56 BST (UK)  »
Bridget JAMES (nee GRIFFITHS)
b. c. 1886 Landilofawr, Glamorganshire, England

1891 Census: Nantgwyne Fach, Llandilo Fawr, Carmarthenshire

Living with her grandparents
(William GRIFFITHS (c. 1845 Llansadwrn, Carmarthenshire) and
Bridget GRIFFITHS (nee ?) (c. 1847 Llansadwrn, Carmarthenshire)
-William John GRIFFITHS (c. 1889 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire) Possibly her brother?and
- Mary Ann (c. 1869 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire),
Rosina (c. 1874 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire) and
Jane GRIFFITHS (c. 1876 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire)

Bridget is 5 years old in this census and William John is 1.

Mother's Maiden Surname:
Order:
GRIFFITHS, BRIDGET - Order
GRO Reference: 1886 M Quarter in LLANDILOFAWR Volume 11A Page 938 Order
http://www.gro.gov.uk

A lack of Mothers sirname suggests that Bridget was born to an illegitimate mother.

I wonder if William and Bridget GRIFFITHS had a son before they had Mary, Rosina and Jane. Could Bridget (b. 1886) be the daughter of an unknown son?

The family I am doing the tree for says that Brigets mothers name is Jemima. They don't know her sirname.

Additional info:

Bridget GRIFFITHS married Ivor JAMES btwn Jul & Sep 1905 in Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire
They had 5 sons:
1906 William Morgan
1909 John Maldwyn
1911 Ivor Edryd
1917 David Clifford
1919 Brynmore Abel

Ella McDonald

I want to access the record for information on family members, residence etc.

McDonald is her maiden name. She should be young and perhaps living with her father.

Thanks

I can't seem to find any more information on Thomas Webster or Hannah Arthy or Arthey. Who were their parents, where were they from??! I hope there's someone out there who can help.

His death certificate does not say where he is from. It doesn't have his parents names. He died 19th Nov 1867, Timaru. age 32 years. Occupation: Baker.
