Good Afternoon.
We are still trying to find where Florence Alberta Holness b 14th Dec 1895 d March 1974 is buried.
We have narrowed it down to Thanet, probably Broadstairs.
We have contacted local undertakers, councils, had a morning at Canterbury Cathedral Archives!
And ruled out cremation. So if anyone has any suggestions or help, we would be most grateful!

Good Afternoon.
Does anyone know if there was a children’s home in Sandwich, or surrounding area?we have found out that Florence was a matron in one, so we are looking at when and where. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find out when she went into St Augustine’s. Her death certificate said she was retired. Any help would be appreciated. Florence b 1895 d 1974 . She did live in Sandwich.

Parents Ernest  and Mary Holness nee Fagg
They lived in Thanet,
Unfortunately, Florence spent a long time in St Augustine’s, Chartham, where she died.We contacted them and we were told to contact Maidstone records office, no joy! The only thing we have been told is that she was handed back to her family. All we would like to know is where she is buried. She did have family in Sandwich.

I used to live in Sandwich in the 1960’s, and my dad farmed at New Downs Farm, Sandwich. I’ve come across an Old Downs Farm, does anyone know if it is the same Farm? , any connection? Names of owners?  Any information would be gratefully received!
