Hello,
A friend of mine is just beginning family history research and wants a simple, easy to use software for her windows 10 computer.  She has basic computer skills and wants a basic software tree program that will show her basic tree, allow photos and census returns and produce simple charts or reports.   Easy to use is essential and she doesn't mind paying for a commercial package if its suitable for her at novice level.   Any advice please ?

I am trying to find birth details or census returns prior to 1901 for Robert Henry James O'Neill.  His death certificate (1927), marriage certificate (1893)  and census returns for 1901 and 1911 all indicate a birth date of 1872.  The 1911 census suggests his birth place of Chatterton on Medlock but the 1901 census states Manchester.  Both census returns state his occupation is a loco engine packer.  The marriage certificate names his father as Robert Henry O'Neill a butcher who was deceased (1893).   His address on the wedding certificate states 1 Shepherds Street, West Gorton, Lancashire. I have tried searching on Find My Past and Ancestry but couldn't find either father or son prior to 1901 census.  I am quite new to family research so have no idea where to look next.  If anyone can find either man please let me know where to look as I have a subscription to both sites.

I am researching Josiah Darke (born 1813 in Bitton Gloucester) who married Ann Wells (sometimes recorded as Wills) in 1846 in East Teignmouth.  Ann Wells/Wills was the daughter of John Wells/Wills and Frances Newman - she was born in Teignmouth in 1820. I have her parents marriage details and her baptism details.  In 1846 there was a marriage for Ann but the groom appears to be recorded as Jonus Dark !  I have all census returns from 1851 for Josiah Darke but cannot find the 1841.   I have a subscription for Find My Past  but the 1841 census for Josiah Darke (or possibly Dark) doesn't seem to  be there. As his working life was connected with railways I think he may have been in Devon during 1840's building the Great Western Railway - and presumably met Ann there.  If anyone has access to the 1841 census I would be really grateful if they could locate Josiah Darke (possibly listed as Dark)

Please help me find my ancestor.  Her birth was registered in March Q 1861 in Stroud, Gloucester which covers the Stonehouse area..  The name given was Hannah Abia Rodway but no mothers maiden name was given - so its possible she was unmarried.  Census returns after 1881 state consistently she was born in Stonehouse, Gloucester.  Her name changes from Hannah, Anne and Annie - which are obvious changes to the original name of Hannah.  I have found her marriage to Henry Darke - and census returns after 1881.  Interestingly, her  first four children were registered as Darke with the mothers maiden name of Rodway but her  final 7 children were registered as Darke but the mothers maiden name was given as Turk !  The 1911 census suggests a long marriage with Henry Darke - and it ties in with the marriage to Henry Darke.   If anyone has access to 1861 and 1871 census - I would be interested to find out about her birth family.

Looking for details on John Redhead born in Leighton Buzzard born 1843.  I think his father was called William Redhead.  Siblings include Anne born 18944, Jane 1849, Sarah 1851, Eliza 1855, Elizabeth 1862,  William 1845, James 1847, Charles 1853, and Joseph 1866
Any information would be really helpful
