Lancashire / what happened to Florence
« on: Tuesday 11 April 17 12:24 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find information about Florence Jane Dalgleish born 1909 Liverpool. I think she married Joseph Edwards. Her sister never heard anything at all about her and up to the time her sister died she always wondered what had happened to Florence so I too am now wondering! Don't know if anyone can help.
Many thanks

Canada / When did she die? Elizabeth Gray
« on: Wednesday 22 March 17 15:22 GMT (UK)  »
I have been trying to find a date for the death of Elizabeth Gray. She was born in Liverpool in 1899 to Robert Fraser and Elizabeth Fraser (nee Lightfoot). Her parents split up and her mother took her and her brother to Canada in the early 1900s (I think). She married Percy Gray in the early 1930s. I managed to find out that she made a couple of trips back to the U.K. but I cant find any more about her. I don't know if she had any children. Although her name was Elizabeth apparently she was known as 'Cissie'. I managed to find out  a bit about her brother William Robert Fraser but nothing more about Cissie. I don't know what happened to her mother either.
Many thanks

Lancashire / What happened to Martha
« on: Thursday 09 March 17 15:24 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find one of the many children of my gt.grandparents John Durnin and Maria Perkins
They had a daughter Martha born 23rd December 1867 in Liverpool and was baptized in March 1868. After that I cant find anything about her, I have looked in the census and deaths (thinking she might have died as a baby) but nothing at all about her. I don't know if anyone can help at all.
Many thanks

Mayo / Whats her maiden name
« on: Wednesday 08 March 17 15:30 GMT (UK)  »
I have a query that will be like looking for a needle in a haystack but knowing Rootschat from old I have hopes that someone can help me.
I have ancestors from Ireland who moved to Liverpool. John Golding born about 1812 and his wife Esther. On the census in Liverpool they are down as being born in Ireland but it doesn't say where. They had two children Catherine and Thomas and on one of the census it says that Thomas was from County Mayo so I am assuming that the parents were as well, but I cant find a marriage and I cant find Esther.
I think they moved just before 1851.

Dublin / Who was Moses
« on: Monday 23 January 17 12:44 GMT (UK)  »
I have searched for a very long time to try and find information about my Gt Gt Grandfather Moses Perkins I think he was born about 1810. His daughter Maria was born in Dublin about 1840 so I assume that her father was born there as well. She has him listed on her marriage certificates (she married 4 times) as a farmer and on one of them she has her mother down as Mary. I cannot find anything about him. It looks like Maria went to Liverpool as a teenager and she married her first husband when she was about 15! She seems to have spent the rest of her life in Liverpool, whether her father went with her or not I don't know.
I'm sorry its not much to go on.
Always been very grateful to Roots in the past on other info I have been looking for.
Many thanks

Lancashire / when did he go to America?
« on: Friday 29 July 16 12:03 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help me please? I am trying o find out when one of my ancestors went to America. I have tried passenger lists but cant find him. His name is Charles Durnin born  1866 in Liverpool. I know he was definitely in America because he sent a Christmas card to his niece (which her grandson still has) and it is from a place called Cathlemet in Washington State. Don't know why he went there but it would be interesting to find out any information.
Many thanks

Lancashire / Who were Lorentz Hanson other wives?
« on: Sunday 01 May 16 14:13 BST (UK)  »
I don't know if anyone can help but I am trying to find two wives of one of my ancestors Lorentz Hanson born in Denmark but moved to Liverpool where he had something to do with shipping and was also Danish and Swedish consul. He married Frances Walpole 16h January 1808 in Liverpool and they had a daughter Matilda,I have tracked Matildas life but it seems that he was married before that to someone whose maiden name was Falkman and may have been born in Germany and they too had a daughter Suzanne Marie Falkman Hanson. Not sure where she was born but it seems that she spent her adult life in Denmark. After his second wife Frances Walpole died, he married again but I have no idea of her name but they had a daughter Emma Louise Hanson.
I know it is all a bit vague but I would be glad of any help of where to look for possible names.
Many thanks

Mayo / Where in County Mayo
« on: Monday 15 February 16 15:05 GMT (UK)  »
I wondered whereabouts in Ireland my gt. grandmother was from. On all the census lists she is down as being born in Ireland but on one of them her brother who was two years older was born in Co.Mayo so I assume that she was as well. I think they moved to Liverpool as children or teenagers.
Her name was Catherine Golding and her brother was Thomas Golding born 1839. their parents were John Golding and Esther Golding (cant find any info about them either) so I though if I could get some info on Thomas then maybe the rest of the family details would come to light, possibly they were all from Co.Mayo.
The last couple of generations have spelt Golding like that but I know through searching that some spell it Goulding.
Hope someone can maybe point me in the right direction.
Many thanks
