Derbyshire / History of my Home

Hi!
I wondered if anyone could help me; it might seem like a strange task! We are interested in looking into the history a previous home. We're interested in the history of the home and those nearby, and the people who lived there before us. We believe the house was built around the 1920's on Longmoor Road in Long Eaton.
The 1939 Register shows the houses were known by names i.e. "Oaklands" and different house numbers. This makes it a bit harder to trace back as we only have the current house number to go off.
After looking at available maps, there are still no clues or things that stand out to us. None of the houses have plaques or stones with the previous names on as some older houses do.
Any tips would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance.
