CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO FIND INFORMATION ON MY GRANDFATHER JOHN SINGLETON ?He was born 1898, in 1917 when he was 19yrs old he was living at Portobella Barracks as a soldier. His Father was Benjamin Singleton. John was married to Sarah Kelly who lived at 118 Francis Street Dublin. I would love any information on John and even more information on Benjamin, who was he married to, how many siblings etc. John was a soldier in the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1917 when he would have been 19 yrs old. Is there an Irish military site that can perhaps hold the answers and also a site where Benjamins marriage/ birth certificate can be found?[/b]

The Common Room / cemetery's
« on: Wednesday 20 September 17 10:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi, does anyone know the situations of any cemeteries in or around Chapelizord/ Pheonix Park   Dublin upto and including the 1900,s. I understand that a couple of them were located by taking the ferry across the river Liffy. I have ruled out the old cemetery at Mill Lane and also the one at St Laurence church. I am looking for a relative by the name of Mary Phelan, sister of Jim(James) Phelan, my grandad, who wrote many books and included radio and tv appearances. Jim died in london in the last
few years but not sure where he is buried. Would love information on either of these two requests. Thankyou. Lilian
