Technical Help / Recover Family Search Account??
« on: Sunday 20 June 21 14:03 BST (UK)  »
Hello all. Several days ago I posted on the USA board a query and received a series of great links....They are all related to Family Search and when I clicked on a link, it gave me a screen that said I need to recover my Family Search account.  AND, it showed a user name that is actually my regular e-mail addy.  I have tried several other ways to access, including using my password but to no avail. Clearly, I am doing something wrong. (We had a tropical storm go through the area yesterday so I thought my ISP was having issues, but that is not the case today.)  I must be doing something wrong as FS seems to recognize my account by giving me my phone number and name, too.... Thanks for any assistance and thanks for reading this cry for help.  Sincerely, patrexjax

Hello all! I have found the family I am searching in the 1940 US census living in Stickney, Illinois: John Rovny age 60 born Czechoslovakia and his wife, "Tille" age 59 born in Ohio. With them in 1940 is their son, Theodore "Ted" age 33 born in Illinois on 15 December 1906.  I am trying to find this family in earlier censuses because I have a problem with the ages of the parents. Either their ages are significantly off in 1940 OR I have a "missing generation." Can any sharp-eyed Rootschatter spot this couple in 1910, 1920 and/or 1930 with the thought of birth years being somewhat "off."  ( I had professional research done on this family in the Czech records and there is a Jan/John Rovny, but he was christened in 1853.... Thanking you in advance. Most sincerely, patrexjax

Northumberland / George Spoors mrg Elizabeth Willans 1834 Whalton, NBL
« on: Tuesday 18 May 21 00:33 BST (UK)  »
Hello all! This post MAY relate back to my earlier post of yet another Spoor/Wealleans marriage. This one has some confusing (to me!) issues. Firstly, one on line source (IGI) indicates that George Spoors was b 15 May 1811 in Whittingham to James Spoors and Isabella Vass. The "problem" is his spouse, Elizabeth Willans who is described in one source (My Heritage) as being born 1812 in Framlington; another source (Ancestry) shows her born 1816 and died 1851. Ancestry also shows George Spoors being born in North Shields! Since I can't seem to find an appropriate George in any census, I am wondering if, perhaps, there may, in fact, be two different George Spoors. That forename, however, is fairly uncommon in those Spoor men I have found.  Can any keen-eyed Rootschatter please make sense of these two different sources? Thank you kindly, Sincerely, patrexjax

Northumberland / James Spour (Spoors) mrg Jane Wealleans 1805 Alwinton
« on: Monday 10 May 21 21:37 BST (UK)  »
Hello all! I have a family which I feel confident is mine, but I need further information. Fortunately, four of their 6 children were all christened in Ingram, NBL. during Bishop Shute Barrington's tenure. Therefore, I am hoping that at least one of these children will have very detailed information concerning the parents. Ann Spours chr 13 July 1806 Ingram; Jane Spours private chr. 21 Oct 1807 Ingram; Sara Spours chr 27 March 1810 Ingram; Catherine Spours chr 11 Oct 1812 Ingram. Their two sons, John and James were christened in 1816 an 1819, so I doubt there will be "extra information on their baptisms.  I thank all for reading this and for anyone who can provide some of the "extra" parental information. Sincerely, patrexjax

Northumberland / John Joseph Wealleans b. 1871 Morpeth dist.
« on: Sunday 09 May 21 23:01 BST (UK)  »
Hello all! I am seeking the parents and John Joseph with them in an applicable census. My information is that he was born 24 March 1871 in the Morpeth district; his Father was reportedly an Andrew Wealleans. This is where I am getting confused, as there are two Andrew Wealleans living, I think, around that time. Sorry, but I don't have any information as to who John Joseph's Mother would be as I am having difficulty accessing GRO site for that help. I have already found John Joseph with his wife, Sarah Jane Lambert whom he married in 1891and their children.  I will appreciate ANY and all assistance! Thanking you in advance, most sincerely, patrexjax

Northumberland / Robert Hindhaugh m. Mary Charlton 5 Feb 1798 Rothbury
« on: Wednesday 23 December 20 00:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all! I know that Robert Charlton chr 23 Dec 1776 in Rothbury married a Mary Charlton but have been unable to pinpoint any details about her. I think her husband died October 1865 in Woodhorn, NBL, but I have been unable to find this family and their children in any applicable census which might give me any information concerning the elusive Mary Charlton!  I do have details about their children from research done by a distant relative but she was unable to provide any information on Mary. Can any Rootschatter please help me with ANY details concerning Mary Charlton? Thank you kindly and my best wishes to all for happy holidays. Sincerely, patrexjax

Northumberland / John Beckinton 28 Dec 1765 NewCastle
« on: Wednesday 25 March 20 13:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all! A cousin left me with a family puzzle! She gave me NO sources, but indicated that John Beckinton was born or christened in Newcastle on 28 Dec 1765. This John Beckinton married an Elizabeth McCall and they both seem to be showing exact birth/christening dates. Strangely, I have been unable to find John Beckinton on line except some sources do show his wife and children. I am especially keen to find out more about John's parents.  Can anyone find his birth or christening records so that I my determine HIS parents? Thank you kindly and be well. Sincerely, patrexjax
