Iím currently researching a great great grandfather Alexander Scott killed In world war 1 1916

I have for a long time thought he was someone else until I finally found that Alexander Scott died due to war

After browsing through many photos something clicked and I am convinced the reason why he is in my albums is because he is from the Scott side and Mcintosh and Scott are mixed in same album

My great grandmother was a daughter of who I think is in. The photo

I see a very good resemblance in my great grandmothers sister Mary to who I think is their father and that would add up as the only photo I have he is in uniform

Can anyone help me decide if there is enough likeness in these 2 people

Alexander died age 32 in 1916 and the photo of his daughter was born 1913 not sure how she is in her photo but quite young

Attached are the Who I think is Alexander and Mary Scott ,

Any help given would be appreciated

« on: Wednesday 08 August 18 13:49 BST (UK)  »
Mary barclay Scott born to parents Helen Allan (Thomson) Scott and Alexander Scott around 1913 Aberdeenshire , Scotland , is the sister of my great grandmother Catherine

Mary married a man who I think is called Dennis Lever from England and I think had 2 boys R and j , little is known of the family after 1960s

I would love to find out where this family ever went or were located, I cannot see anything on scotlands people wonder if they married in England and died

The Common Room / Alexander Scott Mystery
« on: Tuesday 07 August 18 21:45 BST (UK)  »
wonder if anyone can help me?

my 2nd great grandfather named alexander scott born around 1884 aberdeenshire who married Helen Allan Thomson

as scott is a hard surname to research around my area I haven't persisted with finding new info until today

I saw on ancestry a record for  uk soldiers died in great war 1914-1919

alexander scott
 death dec 16th 1916
france and flanders
enlistment Peterhead
l sergeant
Gordon highlanders
no 3201
killed in action

this would make sense to be him as my 2nd great grandmother helen allan Thomson remarried a man called Sylvester third around 1921 st Nicholas Aberdeen

I cannot find any info on this death apart from ancestry

finding something else would be interesting to narrow down if this is my great great grandfather for example something mentioning his wife etc

can anyone find more on this man or his death

grateful of any help
