Suffolk / Mrs Perch
« on: Saturday 25 April 20 13:03 BST (UK)  »
Further to my previous post on MAY PETCH I have now been given more information on this in as much that the woman in question was not Petch as previously thought but known locally as
"Old Mrs Perch".
This information comes from memories of a very old lady (93) who remembers her and indeed the Petch family and she says there is no link???
Despite searching I cannot find anything that could relate to Mrs Perch.
If it is any help the book I referred to was published in 1945, but the research started in 1928, so she could have been interviewed at anytime between those dates.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for any help

Can you help on May Petch her family as below. I am looking for her maiden name (possibly Gooch)
also where she was in service. In an old village book she recalls working for Baron de Val in London, and also a dentist also in London, who was dentist to Buckingham Palace.

Looking for any info. on the following - this is all I have on them, not sure if they were siblings or husband and wife, nor any idea of where they were born.

Marie Gilbert (Goldstein) born 1905
Victor Gilbert (Goldstein) born 1901
found them on 1939 register as living at Risby Cottage Quays Road Risby.

There are also two others at the same address on 1939 register  ( Mary and William Byers)

They are  not on the village 1911 census.

Grateful for any help

World War Two / Celebration of VE Day
« on: Friday 20 March 20 16:32 GMT (UK)  »
If this happens my village has plans.

I would appreciate an opinion on the following.
Under the 100 years rule can we make boards naming the village men who were KIA WW2, and also the names of the village men who served and returned.
Spoken to some of the relatives, they are OK with it but is it legal?

Any input appreciated.
Thanks
