Technical Help / Facebook puzzle
« on: Monday 15 April 19 12:16 BST (UK)  »
On my iPad mini I have no trouble accessing my Facebook page and to scroll back through items that appeared earlier; currently I can see items posted up to 2 hours earlier (this has altered I used to be able to go back beyond 2 hours).
However on my laptop I can now see current items and that is all. If I look at "old" items via "notifications" then when I try to get back to my home page I get a "Welcome to Facebook" with advice to start adding friends etc.

I know the site has had problems recently but this is both annoying and confusing!

Any advice?   In plain English please as I do not understand computers/technology.   ::)

The Common Room / BT at House of Lords
« on: Saturday 13 April 19 14:40 BST (UK)  »
Searching for a marriage in 1640 and found this in the transcription notes:

..wid. of Richard yeoman, BT at House of Lords.

Does this mean Bishop's Transcript kept at the House of Lords?

The marriage took place in Snave, Kent.

The Lighter Side / Ahoy sailors
« on: Monday 10 December 18 13:57 GMT (UK)  »
Just watching, thanks to a feed on Facebook, the Queen Elizabeth arriving in Portsmouth.  Some sailors have caps with straps and some don't. Why?  I'm not from a service family so am curious; guessing it is to do with their rank.  :-\
