The Common Room / Is it the same family?
« on: Tuesday 29 June 10 15:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

just need assurance that I have the same family in each census.

1841 HO107, Piece 1366, Folio 38, Pg 12  George & Elizabeth Jarret both 25 with a  12 year old son
1851 HO107, Piece 2490, Folio 258, Pg 55 it's Jarrett and they are 48 and 38 respectively
1861 RG9, Piece 4216, Folio 36, Pg 2  it's Jarret and they are now 60 and 50
1871 RG10, Piece 5586, Folio 46, Pg 9   Jarret and by now they are 70 and 65

William b. 1832 seems to be  Jarrett .

Somerset / Bath HOOPER Elizabeth
« on: Sunday 20 June 10 08:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

Elizabeth Hooper  1852  and her brother John 1850 both born  Lansdown, mother Marshman (Bath BMD). I can't find a marriage for Hooper/Marshman. There are no other children to this couple.

I think I found the family in the 1851 census HO107, piece 1943, folio 71, page 32, father John, mother Ann and children Mary 1833, Rachel 1835, Sarah 1843 and John 8 months. Because of the big gaps between the children I assume that this is a second marriage.

By the time the 1861 census came round Elizabeth and John are in the Workhouse in Lyncombe. I found a maybe death for John aged 50 in 1856 in Abbey.

Any help would be appreciated,  Peonie
