Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with wording in Admin
« on: Wednesday 23 March 22 20:24 GMT (UK)  »
Could anyone please help with the wording after Francis Whichello in this document where his brother is granted administration. The word I have cut off to the side is Archdeaconry. Thanks Arabrab.

Looking at it again does it say" late a soldier in General George Reed' ---"? Still can't read where or what  he was before or after Bicester

Cheshire / Nursing home 1943 Stanley Place Chester
« on: Wednesday 08 January 20 11:50 GMT (UK)  »
I was born in a nursing home in Chester in 1943.  I believe the address was 11 Stanley Place. Is there anyone with local knowledge who can confirm that it was at number 11?  I have found a picture of the house there today, as it is a grade 2 listed building, but am checking as I know roads have often been  renumbered over the last century. Street directories etc  do not seem to be readily available as it was during the war.

I would be grateful for any ideas

I would be grateful for help with this part of a will which is quite faded. I have tried to enhance it but this section seems harder to read than the rest. Any help with the section after Item I giveto my daughter Mary ?
I think at the end he gives one cow and his best bedstead but I would like to know the exact wording.

Thanks for any help

Kent / Rush Green ?near Wittersham Kent
« on: Saturday 07 July 18 21:34 BST (UK)  »
There is a baptism entry transcribed on the Freereg site for Wittersham, St John the Baptist, for an ancestor of my partner bap. 3rd April 1796. There is a very helpful note made by the vicar at the time. Can anyone help with the exact position of Rush Green ?
"The parents of the above were travellers. He was born upon Rush Green. They were married as appeared by a certificate at Otham by William Horne the rector 1794. The father said he belonged to Erith."
I have found two transcripts of the marriage at Otham  to a May Len or alternatively Mary Lew and I understand the Erith registers were burnt . So it looks like I have come to a dead end .
So any help about Rush Green and whether it was a traditional travellers site would be most welcome.
