Glamorganshire / Pentwyn/Fochriw

Looking for my ancestors' burial places - they lived in Deri - I stumbled across a tiny chapel with a huge graveyard. It seems to be in Pentwyn, not far from Fochriw. Some of the graves seem to be fairly recent so it might be worth me exploring them. Does anyone know the name of the chapel, please, or what denomination it is? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Breconshire / Ruth Thomas, born in Llywel
« on: Sunday 31 December 17 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
On her marriage certificate, my great-grandmother appears as Ruth Thomas.  She married John Jenkins in Brecon in 1866 when she was 24 years old, putting her year of birth as 1842. On the column for fathers' names hers appears as Joseph Thomas but Thomas has been crossed out and replaced with Davies. He was a farmer. Censuses after her marriage show her birthplace to be Llywel.

Ruth moved to Ynysybwl and died there in 1888. I am unable to find any information on her before her marriage to John and I have her death certificate but have no idea where she is buried. She is not in the cemetery in Ynysybwl because it did not open until after her death.

I have visited churches in and around Llywel and a vicar even looked up old records for me but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Monmouthshire / Apostolic Church Records

Please does anyone know if or where these records are kept?  I'm at a standstill with a William Jones from Cwm, Ebbw Vale.  I have his marriage certificate but there are at least sixteen births registered for Merthyr Tydfil at the time he was born (in Dowlais).  The censuses give his ages with a difference of six years between them so that doesn't help. I've been told by a family member that the whole family attended the Aposotolic Church in Cwm and that William's son was a lay preacher there so I thought their records  - if there are any - might help.

I'm clutching at straws here.

Breconshire / Davies or Thomas, Llywell
« on: Thursday 31 January 13 19:13 GMT (UK)  »
I have the marriage certificate from 1866 for my great-grandparents. They married in the register office, Brecon. He was John Jenkins and she was Ruth Thomas, born in Llywell  - or Llywel, depending on where you look - in 1842.  The certificate names her father as Joseph Thomas but the name Thomas has been crossed out and "04 Davies" written above it.  On the censuses she seems to be living with her mother and her grandparents and there's no sign of a father so I'm wondering if she was illegitimate.  As far as I can tell her mother never married.  Can anyone please throw any light as to what the correction on the certificate means?
