Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with name of bride's mother - Completed.
« on: Wednesday 05 April 23 09:06 BST (UK)  »
I would appreciate help with deciphering the name of Isabella WILSON's mother.  This snip taken from a Victoria, Australia 1863 marriage certificate.  ?Grace WILEY.   This is the only resource that shows Isabella's mother's name.  She was born in Ireland in 1833.

Cheshire / Graveyards Birkenhead 1858. Completed thank you.
« on: Monday 19 December 22 07:16 GMT (UK)  »
I have a death notice published in The Argus, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 14 Jun 1858 for my 4th grandmother Ann RENWICK nee RIDDELL 1770-1858.

Deaths
On 4th March, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs GRIMES, Birkenhead, Ann RENWICK in her 88th year of age, relict of the late John RENWICK, of Carmyle House, Lanarkshire.

Her daughter, Janet GRIMES who died in 1870, is buried (with headstone) in the non-conformist section of Flaybrick Cemetery and as that cemetery opened only in 1864, I would appreciate some help to find where her mother, Ann RENWICK was buried.

I also have Janet GRIMES' address in an 1860 Post Office Directory as 99 Exmouth Street, Birkenhead.

It's years since I've researched in Cheshire so hopefully there may be more records available.

Cheers

I would appreciate some help with this funeral notice.  The cemetery records show she was interred in 1997.  I think it was her husband William Patrick BLAND who was interred in 1997.  Their ashes are located at the same rose garden at Redcliffe.

Does anyone have a NLA or SLV library card with access to eResources to look up the following in the Melbourne "Age".
I've tried to find it online but the page with deaths doesn't appear to be there.  I think I'm losing my touch.  Don't do very much research these days.

From today, researchers and historians are able to apply for historical source images, which are the notes or any other material provided by the informant. Previously they were only able to access the official record of the birth, death or marriage.

“While not every certificate has accompanying notes or documents, there is the potential to access so much more information quickly, which may provide far greater insights into a family’s history.
