Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Image in Mirror
« on: Thursday 07 February 08 10:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,

Just a query, has anyone heard of a picture being put on a mirror?  And if so how would one go about getting a copy?  It's from the 1930s I guess (I haven't actually seen it) so perhaps they etched the image on.  Any ideas?

Tyrone / Catholic Stewarts in Tyrone
« on: Saturday 12 January 08 12:10 GMT (UK)  »
MIA, Alexander Stewart born c1818 in Tyrone, married in Scotland 1844 to Elizabeth Feeney of Roscommon.  Both Catholics, Alexander and his four youngest children went AWOL after the death of Elizabeth Feeney in 1869, can't find them in the 1871 Scottish census so perhaps they returned to Ireland.

The four kids were back in Scotland by 1875 as one of them Annie Stewart 1852 was married and stated her father Alexander Stewart as deceased.  Other children include John 1845, Alexander 1846, Maryann 1849, Daniel 1854, Elizabeth 1857 and Margaret Jane 1860.  If anyone has Stewart lines with these given names please drop me a line.  Thanks and happy new year.  Valster

Hi, have this picture from our family album but no one knows who she is.  If anyone can give a rough date this would help me to eliminate some people off the list.  Thanks so much.

We have a photo of some student's outside this school building, their board is marked with the school name and the year 1924.  My grandmother was in Ireland with her relatives and we assume that she is in the photograph.  Does anyone know if this school was in Tyrone possibly around Carvan or Aughamullen.  Thanks

Renfrewshire / Mary McCabe - Death by Carbonic Acid Poisoning!
« on: Saturday 09 June 07 15:24 BST (UK)  »
Completed Lookup please Watt Library, Greenock.   Hi everyone, here's another interesting one, my Great Grandfather's first wife Mary McCabe died after she entered and concealed herself in a chest :o  I was wondering if anyone was was at the Watt Library and had time to have a look in the newspaper for any record of this.  I would really appreciate it.  She was called Mary Clark (being married at the time to James Clark) two children James and Catherine and living at 59 Church Street, Port Glasgow when she died.  Date of death was 11 Oct 1889. What was she playing hide and seek with the kids?  Anyway I found her son James in Port Glasgow but family history says that Catherine went back to Ireland when her father remarried, she was only 3 when her mum died.  Any help would be great thanks again.

Tyrone / McDonald - Arboe or Donaghenry Parish
« on: Monday 02 October 06 09:23 BST (UK)  »
Looking for family details of William McDonald born c1835 in Tyrone, Northern Ireland.  William McDonald married Eleanor Dorman and had children John 1864, William 1866, James 1868 Margaret 1868 Eliza Jane 1871, Joseph 1871 and Thomas 1874 all born around Cookstown.  I believe that William McDonald 1835 was deceased at his son's wedding in 1903 and it's said that he died around the time of Thomas's birth.  I have the widow Ellen Dorman in Carnan townland in 1901 census with some of the children and a grandson.  They are Roman Catholics, anyone have anything on this family?  Kind regards Valerie
