Hi
I wish to get an idea of the dates of the two attached photos please.
The large wedding group was taken in Germantown, Geelong, Victoria and I have no idea exactly who they are although I have a few candidates.
The family photo (sorry about the quality) is possibly the couple who got married in the previous photo.
Dating the photos will help in working out who they are.
Thanks
Bob

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Francis Dickman's Will - Decipher Please
« on: Tuesday 03 November 20 00:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
The attached will is for Francis Dickman of Braunston in Leicestershire made in 1665.
I can read about 75% of it but I would like an expert deciphering of it please. One thing that has me puzzled is that he appears to leave everything to his 'Brother Kellam Faux'.  First question is why is his brother's name Faux and secondly am I missing some old naming custom?

Hi
On the attached I am interested in a translation of the entry for Elizabeth POPPLE please.
I think I have worked most of it out but I'd just like to be sure.

The register is from parish church in Wing Rutland in 1665.

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Gedling Parish Records - FLINDERS Marriage & Baptism
« on: Wednesday 23 September 20 02:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi
William FLINDERS (b c1619) married Isabel UNKNOWN (b c1622) around 1645.  I am trying to ascertain the date and the brides surname please, which I suspect is BAILIE.

Also the baptism of William is a mystery, his parents were Richard FLINDERS and Margaret HALLS and I have the baptism dates of William's siblings, all in Gedling, but not his.

If someone could look up those events please I would appreciate it.

Hi
I need help with the marriage top line.  The male should be John Peace but his bride is the problem. The transcription says Ann Mannsfeld but I don't quite agree, I originally thought Mansfield but not sure about that either, what do you think?

Cheers

I need help please deciphering some words on the marriage entry, forth line down on the attachment.
The transcription gave me 'John Blackburne & Beatrice Lamason 1 July 1627'.
My concerns are the brides surname which does not look like Lamason more like Lauraston and also the word after her surname, which may be a place name?

I'm hoping something can be done to make this photo more presentable please.
I do not have or have access to the original, which is a shame as more care could have been taken during scanning.  Be that as it may I would really appreciate it if some of you experts could have ago at it.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / ID Place name PLEASE
« on: Thursday 13 August 20 09:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
Attached is the marriage cert, and a blow up of the place name, for Eliza Jones and James Hopkins. The marriage took place in Geelong in 1854.  Eliza states her birth place to be ??????, Stratford, I think.  In the 1841 census she is living at Bletchley, Bucks with a John & Ann Palmer, all three are indicated as not being born in Bucks.  In 1851 I can't find which Eliza/Elizabeth/Rebecca (any combination as she used them all during her life) Jones is which.  There are no obvious ones stand out.  In 1851 John & Ann Palmer are still living in Bletchley this time with a 73 year old William Jones.  John Palmer comes from Lincoln and Ann Palmer and William Jones from Shropshire.  Makes me think that maybe Will is Ann's father and that Eliza Jones is her niece.  Anyway then she migrated to OZ in 1854.
Sorry to be long winded but I like to give context to my requests, which is, in case you have forgotten, the name of Eliza's birthplace :)
Cheers

« on: Thursday 06 August 20 05:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
Attached is an extract from the marriage register of St Luke's, Chelsea in 1699.
On 11 Sept John REYNOLDS of St Andrews Holborn married Elizabeth T? of St Giles H?

Elizabeth's surname could be TERTET, TERLET, TORTET, TORLET or others.  Also not sure of the parish either.

Could I ask for some experienced eyes to offer their thoughts please.

Cheers
Bob in OZ
